THE POSSIBILITIES!!!!
It's Time Chapter 2With the sun shining in my face, I wake up to realize that Atsuko had left while I was asleep. I pick up my phone to check the time it’s already 9am. I see a text message and read it as I checked the time.
I had to leave early for a shooting today.
Please be sure to take it easy today.
I will be there later. Don’t worry.

A smile comes across my face as I get out of bed to get ready. Atsuko’s message adding a spring to my step regardless of what I’m about to do later.
It’s been 10 years since I’ve been with AKB. And being able to personally to see and experience the miraculous growth we’ve had makes me the proudest person in the world.
I can’t believe I am the only pioneer left. Nyan Nyan announced her gradation a little under a year after Yuko left. That broke my heart. Then again I knew Nyan Nyan will be fine after leaving. I knew that I will miss her so much. Her light heartedness made my job as General Manager a lot less stressful. Oh how thankful I was to Aki-P when he transferred her back to Team A after the Grand
Shuffle especially with Yuko about to leave at that time. She really helped me cope.
It was a surprise to me when Miichan announced her graduation. But then again I knew it was coming. She did say that she will leave once one of her Three Musketeers reaches senbatsu during the election. KojiMako the rising star that she is achieved that in no time. Despite her pass scandal, Miichan had been an inspiration to me. She’s overcame all that on her own and grown in to a wonderful leader. She’s made Team 4 into a formidable team. Even though she’s no longer a member, Miichan now has a Variety Show that works with AKB members highlighting their individual talents.
And a last, it’s my turn.. the last Pioneer.

I arrive at the theater and see it already crawling with fans outside. I was also pleasantly surprised that pretty much all the members are already here to prepare for tonights performances. As I walk into the theater, I see all the members huddled around into a circle around Yuihan and Sayanee. They all seem to be having a serious discussion as no one notice me arrive. I walk slowly and hide behind a pillar to listen in.
“ Everybody listen up! “ Yuihan says in a loud clear voice that silences the murmurs. (I’d like to add that I thought the once shy and quite Yuihan how to be more outspoken. I’m quite proud of that) =D
“ Tonight is a very important night for all of us. It’s AKB48’s 10 year anniversary!!! “ Sayanee shouts in a proud voice as everyone cheers. She waves her hand in the air and quickly stops the cheers.
“ We all know that it is supposed to be fun and it will be. There is no doubt about that. It is quite an achievement after all. But I want you all to keep in mind how important today is. “ Sayanee says as she looks around at the members circled around her.
“ As much as we all want to stand out. Please remember that you are a part of a group during performances. We bring out the best in each other. “ Yuihan says as Sayanee nods her head in agreement.
“ Similar to every year, we will all be having our performances with our Generation Members. The Keinin’s will have their own as well. Please continue to practice till it’s time to get ready to the show.” Sayanee instructs the members as they all nod in reply.
“ If you have any questions or concerns please and I mean PLEASE come see me and Sayanee “ Yuihan says as she slaps Sayanee in the back making her take a step forward because of the force causing everyone to giggle.
“ Alright, alright. Everyone get practicing “ Sayanee says as she punches Yuihan on the shoulder.
Watching their mini meeting made me proud. Not just at the group but also and Yui and Sayaka. I always knew they would made great leaders. And I think Aki-P also thought the same since he made them my Assistant General Managers at Yuko’s Graduation concert. I was pleasantly surprise and how well they took on the challenge. Not to mention that fact that it took loads of my shoulders. It was fun watching them grow beautifully.
While everyone scatters in their own groups to practice, I carefully made my presence known pretending to have arrived and not heard any of it.
Once seen, I was greeted by a warm welcome from everyone. I bowed at everyone to greet them back.
Yui and Sayaka headed straight for me.
“ Good morning you two” I smile at them
“ Ohayo Takamina-san” the both say in unison
“ Don’t worry Takamina-san. We’ve sent everyone to practice their number for tonight so you won’t have to once you got here “ Yui-han says with a proud look on her face
“ Yea. So you can practice for your performance too Takamina-san. After all, you’re the only one performing alone tonight. “ Sayanee says as they both look at me with a worried look.
“ Don’t worry guys. I’ve sang that song a million times before. “ I say to them reassuringly.

The festival stared quite smoothly.
Atsuko no where in sight..
We performed all our singles to date. It is a lot of fun seeing all the girls enjoy themselves and work together. Reminds me of us the first gens when all of this began.
One by one each generation began their numbers. And as they finish my turn comes ever closer. I look at the audience and Atsuko is nowhere to be found. My nervousness starts to take over.
I stand behind the stage as I watch Sae-Chan, Umechan and Kana perform. Once they finished, they head backstage.
“ Ganbatte Minami “ Sae says with her always happy smile making me feel a bit better. Sae has always been a great support. Specially when the others left.
“ Ganbatte Takamina-san” says both Umechan and Kana patting my back.
I step into the stage and hear the loudest cheer from the audience and I begin singing Itosisha no Accel. I soak in all the energy from the crowd. Giving what felt like the best performance of my life.
After my performance, I stand on the stage and scan the crowd. My heart already raising from the adrenaline, beats even faster as I see the back.
I stand my ground as I see the smiling faces of Atsuko, Tomochin, Nyan Nyan, Mariko, Miichan my friends, my fellow pioneers. Not to forget the small figure beside Nyan Nyan giving me her familiar bright smile, Yuko. They’re all here. Giving me the courage to move forward. It’s time.
I bow as the cheers slowly stop. The crowd and members expecting my usual speech.
