Chapter 2
The night was young and the moon was full over the city, the night life was just as active as the day time. The young devil was having a hard time finding a place to stay and so she wandered aimlessly in the streets trying to find a suitable place to call home. Somehow the little devil had found herself in the rougher area of town full of crime and the nastiest of people. For some odd reason though the devil thought this was the perfect place to call her home. Walking down the alleyway, she knew someone was tailing her but she didn’t say anything and just kept walking. She continued to walk all the way to a dead end where she turned around to see her two attackers. They were two young girls who looked to be like they were in high school. One of them had pipe in her hand and the other had a bat both with the intention of robbing the devil. Sadly they didn’t know what they were dealing with and so when one of them tried to attack, it was all over there.
“If you don’t want me to send you to the great lord in the ground I would suggest you take me to your boss now.” the devil said.
The two subordinates followed the devil’s order and took her to an abandoned apartment complex that was littered with gang members. Everyone had locked eyes on the devil wanting to know what was going on but they knew it meant trouble. They entered the building and went up to the top floor where the boss was waiting. He was sitting in a chair being entertained by other girls and became irritated when he realized his fun time was being interrupted. The two gang member apologized and explained to him what had happened.
“So what do you want?”
“I need a place to stay.” the devil said.
“Well we are more than happy to take in such a fine young lady as yourself, however, you’re gonna have to work off your stay since I do charge.”
The man was examining the devil’s body up and down and she knew what he was intending but the devil wasn’t going to go with that. She walked over to him and placed her foot on his thigh leaning in and telling him,
“I’m not going to pay jack shit. I’m staying here for free and taking your place.”
Before the boss could say anything the devil kicked him square in the jaw sending him flying through the roof. A couple seconds later the boss came crashing back down right on his head following with a thick thud. The boss laid there dead from the serious injury and the devil knew she had claimed her throne. She picked up the body of the boss and dragged it around the apartment complex for everyone to see. She then took it outside and displayed it for everyone declaring,
“I am the new boss of this group. If you got problems you can either leave or fight me.”
The devil dropped the body and waited for anyone to leave or come fight her. No one moved and so she ordered them to bow and they followed. The devil had claimed her spot and she was going to stay there for the time being of her stay. Satisfied with her new minions, she went back up to the room where the former boss was and sat down on his throne declaring it as hers. The two women who were entertaining him now started to entertain the devil who was more than happy for the special treatment.
“What’s your name hun?” one girl asked.
“Jurina but you can call me Jun.”
“You got it Jun-kun~”
*Beep beep beep beep*
“Mou I don’t wanna wake up!”
Rena threw her pillow at the alarm clock causing it to stop beeping instantly. She rolled over and hugged her cat plushie reliving what had happened last night. She had finished her homework and was trying to fall asleep but she kept having dreams of Yuki that were driving her crazy. Each of them with different scenarios but all of them were teeth grindingly painful. Rena worried that she wasn’t going to be able to keep in her feelings for much longer. Her body was burning every time she thought of Yuki with not only her mind craving her but her body. She couldn’t remember how many times she woke up with dampened panties that needed to be changed. Rena didn’t know what to do with her wavering heart but she knew it was going to be a problem in the future. For the mean time though she had to get ready for school so she forced herself out of the bed and got ready for school.
“Rena Rena Rena!!!”
Once again Yuko jumped onto Rena but this time she had caught her so they wouldn’t fall. The two walked into the school and Rena went to her class early since she was the class helper and had to erase the board. She walked in and found the eraser so she started to wipe the board cleaning it. Rena was too busy to even notice the girl walking behind her and sit in the desk behind. She was almost done erasing the board but there was one spot that she just couldn’t reach. No matter how hard she reached she couldn’t make it so she thought about getting a chair but then she felt the presence of someone else. They pressed their body against Rena’s causing her to freeze entirely.
“Here let me help.”
Rena realized it was Yuki which made her body freeze up even more and her heart start racing again. All she could do was watch as Yuki gently touched her hand and then took the eraser out of her hand to erase the remaining chalk on the board. Yuki then backed away and handed Rena the eraser who just stood there with a spaced out look on her face.
“Are you ok Matsui-san?”
“H-hai..”
“You look awfully pale, maybe you should go see the nurse.”
“No, no I’m fine.”
The bell rang and students started to flood into the classroom so the two girls quickly separated and got to their designated seats. Looking over at the window, Rena could see her reflection and saw exactly what Yuki was talking about. Rena was surprised to see that she was actually very pale and not blushing bright red like she usually does when she sees Yuki. The more she looked at herself the sicker she felt as her body seemed very cold and very weak. At one point she thought she was going to pass out but she somehow managed to keep her head up.
“Starting off the new term, there will be a seating change. Please grab your things and move to the side of the room.”
Everyone groaned but followed the instructions and they all stood up and walked to the sides. Rena leaned against the wall fearing that she would fall over and hurt herself but luckily no one noticed. She waited until finally her name was called and she walked over to the seat in the far back right corner of the room. She took her seat and saw that she was sitting right behind Yuki who just so happened to be sitting there. Rena couldn’t believe she was sitting behind Yuki but even when she was really happy she still felt extremely ill. She felt like she was going to vomit at any moment but somehow it all managed to stay inside. She managed to focus on the rest of the lesson but when the bell rang and everyone got up to leave Rena stayed in her seat. Her head was now spinning and she couldn’t see anything clearly because it was all a giant blur. She heard Yuki ask her something but she couldn’t hear it clearly because the next thing she knew, she was falling and after that it was lights out.
“Rena..”
“Hmmm?”
“Matsui-san!”
Rena opened her eyes and found Yuki staring at her from above. Rena thought she had died and an angel was here to take her away but she was actually alive and Yuki had taken her to the nurse’s office. Rena tried to sit up but Yuki gently pushed her back down telling her to rest and not to move. She thanked Yuki for being there with her but urged to go to class. Yuki agreed and told her she would be back by the end of the period if Rena was still feeling ill. Once Yuki left, Rena sat up and placed her hands over her face. She felt cold as ice but she didn’t feel cold at all and thought maybe her blood had poor circulation. Rena stood up and then told the nurse she was ok so she could go back to class so the nurse let her go. She entered the classroom and carried on the rest of her day but she was still worried about her health. While Rena was focusing on her lesson, Mayu was learning a lesson about being a human being. While her parents were away she started watching TV dramas to try to get a feel of how to act like a human being.
“Hmmm what’s this show about..”
The show was about a drama between a man and a woman in a relationship. Mayu thought it was very cliché and kind of annoying so she changed the channel to a crime show. She knew she didn’t want to be a police detective so she changed it again to another show. This time she ended up on some anime channel and there was a show on called “Strawberry Panic.” The show immediately caught the little angel’s attention so she grabbed her popcorn and her bunny plushie and leaned back to learn about the world of girl’s love. Hours passed until she had finally finished the anime and her overall reaction was speechless. Mayu learned two things from watching show and that was she LOVED anime and she like girls more than boys. Now according to the Lord love between two women is forbidden but since she wasn’t under such heavy surveillance and had her own life, she thought she would have some fun. After a long four hour marathon Mayu decided it was time to go out for a while. She was hungry and she wanted to go out and get something to eat so she took some money and left the house. Mayu didn’t know how to drive so she had to walk but she didn’t mind since it was another nice day. She walked down the road to the plaza that she had ran through before. There were all kinds of food vendors there selling different things so she thought she would get something.
“I want.. something sweet.”
She walked around for a while and didn’t see anything that seemed appetizing let alone anything she knew. Times had changed since she was last alive and didn’t know much about the human world she was currently in. While walking, Mayu saw something interesting next to the takoyaki booth and there was a picture of some kind of pink thing topped with a strange white substance and a cherry on top. Curious as to what it was, Mayu went over and asked for the picture on the side of the booth. The vendor handed Mayu the food and after paying she walked over to a table and sat down. The confused angel didn’t know what to think of it except it looked good because of its pink color. Taking the first lick, Mayu’s tongue exploded with all kinds of sweet flavor. The strongest flavor was strawberry which was Mayu’s favorite even back when she was alive. She also noticed that the treat was cold and was slowly starting to melt so she had to eat quickly. However she soon realized that when you eat cold things too quickly, your heard starts to hurt so she had to slow down. Mayu finished her treat and she then set off to find another sweet treat to eat. She found a place that sold a thing called Rice Pudding and when she took a bite of it, she fell in love with the sweet flavor of the rice and the spice of the cinnamon.
“Humans know how to make good sweets~”
Mayu finished her pudding and then got ready to head home but she heard the sounds of cheering and excitement. She looked over and saw an arcade where kids were playing games on some sort of screen device. Interested, the little angel made her way inside and watched the other kids playing the games. A majority of them were playing fighting games and some of them were playing music games. Mayu found the fighting games fairly entertaining as she learned the controls quickly and then started to beat the other kids who were there. Then she saw something that instantly caught her attention which was a big glass box full of plushies. There was one certain plushie that she wanted desperately but because she was out of money, she would have to go home. Mayu was sad that she wasn’t going to be able to get the plushie but she reminded herself that she would have to go back and get one. In the meantime though, Mayu remembered she was on a mission and so she started to wander the city in search for the one she was looking for. Little did she know that her rival was also looking while having some fun at the same time.
“Did you find her anywhere?”
“No boss.”
“Then keep looking!”
“Yes boss it’s just it’s kind of hard to find a girl. I mean there are tons of them in the city.”
“Well this girl will have marks on her arms. On the left arm you’ll see a wing on the right there will be a trident.”
“Right we’ll look for her boss.”
The two gang members left leaving Jurina alone in her room to look out the window. She noted how sunny it was and despised it for its brightness and radiance. She closed the curtains and then left her room and apartment. The wild devil thought she might as well have some fun since she was here on Earth and she didn’t plan on leaving without causing some havoc.
“Let’s see who shall I play with today?”
Observing the busy streets of the city, Jurina tried to find the best thing to mess with in order to create the most amount of chaos. After looking around she found the perfect thing that would cause the most chaos and so she made her way to the top of some stairs. There was a mother who wasn’t watching her child properly and so she decided to have some fun with the child. The child looked bored to death as the mother was talking on the phone to someone so the devil thought she could help the child. Jurina hid behind a tree and then came out only she wasn’t in her normal human form but instead the one of a puppy. Having the appearance of something cute and innocent, Jurina walked over to the child and pranced around for a bit. The child saw Jurina and was fascinated by the cute puppy so the child started to chase after Jurina who was leading her straight into a trap. Jurina led the child down the stairs and right into the crosswalk where people were crossing the street. In the midst of the crowd, Jurina transformed into a crow and took flight leaving the child lost in the crowd. She landed on a light post and watched as the calamity unfolded right before her. The child was standing in the middle of the road just as the light had changed and cars were rushing. There was a truck coming that didn’t see the child at all and was going to crash at any minute. By the time the driver saw the child, he tried to stop but it wasn’t fast enough and he was going to hit the child.
HONK HONK
The child saw the truck but was too scared to move frozen with fear knowing what was going to happen next. Everyone watched in horror and the mother screamed realizing what was happening and running as fast as she could to save her child. She was too late though and the truck was just about to hit but then something happened seconds before the truck hit. There wasn’t a thud or the splatter of blood but instead the truck crashed into the car in front of it. The child however was nowhere to be found and everyone was worried that something else had happened. Jurina herself was confused as to what had happened to the child but then moments later the child came running out of nowhere to the mother. The child was crying but the mother was crying more as she held her child tightly in her arms. The sheer sight of the two made Jurina ill so she flew away and returned to her human form in an alleyway. She leaned against the wall and looked up at the sky wondering what exactly happened at that moment. It was moving so fast that she couldn’t see what had happened but she knew there was no way the child had moved let alone a mere human coming in at the last minute. No, it was something else and Jurina had a suspicion what it was but didn’t want to say what it was yet. In the meantime though she decided it was best to head back to her apartment where it was safe. She had gotten enough light tonight and wanted to be back in the dark where it was safe. Still, she couldn’t quite figure out what had saved the child but that just made me more determined what had happened.

So we now know Jurina is quite a trouble maker and Mayu is a total anime fan
