@Mugen: Same here, I've been watching a lot of matches of pro players but not actually playing. I think I'll try to get a stick since my japanese teacher is going to the USA next month.

Unless I'm losing to cheap tactics I never get bummed about losing. My friend who plays at a pro level and knows a lot of professional players he destroys me on a daily basis. I may get like 4 match wins but his count in like 50 something or more match wins. He knows everyone on the roster but mains Guile and can fadc into Sonic Hurricane like nothing. He's that good. Idc about losing as I know if I keep at it I'll get better. That's the best training I can ask for.

I'm like you, I don't mind losing at all, as long as the person is a better player. Doesn't matter if it's a kid, girl, etc. Since in SF4 we don't have infinites I really don't care how they play it, as long as it's efficient.
I'd just like to point out that cheap tactics are only cheap in my view if it's an infinite or a complete bug of the game but if the person does the same thing over and over and you keep falling for it, it's not their fault.
Me, I'd rather lose all the time to good and great players than win against bad players. When you eventually beat them you feel like you have some potential to do better.

sooo, the arcade version of SSF4 appears to have Yun and Yang in it =) i really wanted yun in ssf4. hope they make dlc for console players.

haha man I feel good. Went into a team battle lobby with 2 other people and rather than wait for another player cause of fairness, they both teamed up against me. I was Fei Long first against an Akuma player and he was nothing special. I was going to be casual about it but I realised the host set it to one round so I realised that he could land an ultra on me and protect his life lead, so I just decided to extend on mine and go all out. Anyway, crouched in the corner, I dash forward and crouch and he does his ultra II, and the kick goes sailing over my head, and I give a gentle punch to win the game Next was a Ken player and I was Ryu, and I won! Dashed back from a focus attack cause I predicted he would do a wake up shoryuken, and I was right, jumped up into a medium punch and landed it with the ultra ftw. Bet they felt silly at the end thinking they would win

Is that what people mean by SF boosters? Setting ranked matches and stuff to one round, 30 secs and just try to protect a life lead?

So it's official. Yun and Yang are gonna be in SSFIV. Apparently a lot of characters are getting screwed royally. I am glad that Makoto will be getting improvements. For those that like Hakan it seems he may become a top tier character now. I guess since it's still too early in testing they might not go with some of the changes. But I wouldn't mind if they fix more than what has already been confirmed.

It doesn't seem so bad to me, there are improvements there, plus the game balance is probably being wholely changed so in the bigger picture (with the improvements all characters will get as well as nerfs) it won't be as bad as everyone thinks.

But in saying that, fuck them for nerfing E.Honda's damage
I mean a lot of the time it's near impossible to actually get in and do damage, so to reduce it and make it even harder to win in certain situations? great

Where is this supposed list of changes? And out of interest, what do people mean when they say a character's top tier? Am I right in assuming it's based on damage output from special attacks, combos, ultra damage, ease of use etc? Always found it weird to see people debating about this for certain characters like Bison or Sagat when I really don't know how you classify a character in certain tiers. Not that it matters anyway, cause I played a Gen player earlier, easily the worst character in the game for me, and he absolutely floored me. Seriously impressive player, so it doesn't really matter who you play as does it, cause it's all down to player skill for me.

As for what they're like, well while they're not the same, Rufus was described as being like Yun and Yang has moves in common with Fei Long. They're students of Gen, so they might have moves in common there, but I'm too rusty with them to be able to remember clearly, haha.

As for other SF3 characters, I wouldn't mind SO much if no more were added, since SF3 will come out soon on 360, but if they were, I'd want Elena

Tier lists, well.. hmm.. the best way to describe them is, it's like a spreadsheet, of what would happen if two players with identical skill levels(impossible), played 10 matches, and what the result would be, like 6wins 4 losses if it's good or even 3wins 7 losses if it's a bad matchup, and they total up the numbers, and the ones with the highest amount of points are the highest teirs. Other lists are made from tournament results.

Some may argue that tiers don't matter, which imo is true, at least to a certain extent, and others say you can win with anyone, even so called bad tier characters, like Adon, who was supposed to be terrible, and Rufus, who was supposed to be no.1, and you saw what happened with Justin Wong this year and Gamerbee.

People in general in games are lazy, especially online, so that's why people like that, like tier lists, because they can win with less effort... and you end up with fighting the same small handfull of characters over and over.

Poison is a little unlikely, Final Fight revenge is a pretty unpopular game 
It's probably just Ono teasing about Hugo returning, which would be pretty awesome if true
