I agree with some people here, I'd only buy a PS3 because of MGS4 and FFXIII. And for me these are more than enough reasons to buy a videogame.
However, It´ll only depend on the price drop if I would buy it now or god knows when. I'll probably buy it at the end of the year IF it gets A LOT cheaper.

Newegg.com is giving the 60GB PS3 for free if you buy the 46" 1080p SHARP AQUOS LCD TV. I think it's a really nice deal if you have the money. All you need is a HDMI cable and you can play in all the glory that is 1080p... Too bad none of the really cinemtic games are out...

It's not too bad for a 1080p lcd, but there are cheaper ones and better deals for the tv itself

The tv is pretty nice, there are some complaints about banding or something in the reviews, but it's good enough. If you have a ps3 already, it's not worth it at all

i'm a playstation fan so i'm probably gonna buy the ps3, i hope they release more games though because as of now there are only a few around. and besides that, the price is still a bit high, i'll wait a little while before i buy it so that the price drops. waiting for final fantasy XIII and MGS4 on the ps3.

Talk about the upcoming news/games and the console itself here.

I just bought a 60gb ps3 without any games. Why? Because there isnt one good game out yet lol. the games i look forward/buying are prolly assassins creed, RE5, army of two, heavenly sword,fifa 08 killzone 2and the new silent hill. im kinda 50/50 on stranglehold. chow yun fat looks constipated in it.

im not sure about MGS4 though. I have zero patience for stealth and i pretty much gunned down everyone in snake eater

The PS3 is certainly building in strength. MGS4, FFXIII, Assassin's Creed, GTAIV, Silent Hill V, Resident Evil V, PES7, Heavenly Sword, Killzone 2, Home. There's a lot of good looking games ready to come out. And with free online play too. The only downside at the minute for me is price. When these games come out however, hopefully the retail price would have done down as well. Hopefully.

I decided I'm waiting until FFXIII comes out before I get a PS3. (Though, the Smegz says Spiderman 3's pretty good. >.>,,,)

I got a 60GB PS3 too! No games too, though. I guess I'm waiting too. Though one of the reasons was that my PS2 was totally DONE and it didn't read any discs anymore, so I just went ahead and bought a better system. It's so shiny... and the buttons are touch sensitive. *_*

Have you tried playing PS1 games on it? It kinda gets... glitchy.

I'm planning on getting a 60gb PS3 later on this week to take advantage of the price cut while it still last. Like most of you here I'm not too excited about the games they have out right now, which is why i wont be buying any games until November when Assassin's Creed comes out. However over at Future Shop theres a promotion going on where the 60gb version comes with an RPG game Enchanted Arms or something. Crappy ratings for it, but it'll keep me busy till November comes.

To me, the extra $100 for the 80gb version + Motorstorm isnt worth it IMO. I'm not too excited about driving games except for the Gran Turismo series, so i wont be playing Motorstorm alot... and why pay the $100 for an extra 20gb of disk space when u could spend the same amount to buy a 160gb laptop hard drive (same hard drives used in the ps3) and replace it yourself? Replacing hard drives does not void the warranty and looking at the HOW TOs at Youtube... it looks easy to do.

I'm getting a PS3 for sure.. My PS1 and PS2 have never let me down.. ever. I will wait until prices come down and they make a good starterspack, with two controllers and memorycard etc. I can't wait for the new Gran Turismo..

the way things are going (the 80gb version replacing the 60gb) I don't see sony making any more nice moves until late next year(only one so far since it's release was the price drop), so if you want to play the games that are coming out soon the 60gb dropped $100 is probably the best deal we'll be getting in a while.

I think sony releasing they're "online enhanced" 80gb ps3 is one of the most retarded things they've done so far. Even a fucking 12 year old won't fall for that shit. How do they hope to win back the market doing such stupid crap? If they actually hoped to sell it, they should've stuck with the dropped price, or atleast have it $50 cheaper.

That said, hope to get myself a 60gb ps3 before they sell out...
