A short campaign again doesn't affect me if I have fun with it. You mean to say ICO's a bad game because of it's short length?

Funny you mention ICO. It took me a long time to complete that game. I liked it the atmosphere and plot, but I really got bored of ICO because of it's repetitiveness.

I'm not sure on Assassin's Creed yet.. I'll have to wait till my friend buys it, so I can check it out properly.

Actually all this talk of ICO and SOTC makes me wanna play them again XD Well I'd estimate that if you played ICO from beginning to end it would take about 6-7 hrs to complete. But of course, if you pad it out, like I did and will do with Creed, then I think you'd get more enjoyment out of it, rather than notice all of it's flaws in one sitting. SOTC sounds largely like Creed, travel by horse to find enemy, find it's weak spots, attack with limited number of weapons, kill repeat. And that was all it had (well, unless you count finding the fruit/lizards that could increase your health and stamina). No minor enemies, no sub-bosses. Just 16 boss fights that again would take 7 hrs to power through. Yet there's perfect scores all round.....I'm definately gonna play SOTC now :D

I dunno, I think Creed is another victim of the hype machine. All the promise of next-gen technology and what have you. But from what I see and hear, it doesn't warrant IGN's claim of 'biggest next-gen dissapointment'. And another thing, I wish reviewers would stop spoiling the story. :banghead: I don't care if it is mentioned even at the beginning of the game, there's a reason Ubisoft didn't leak any information about the story and it should be kept that way. I don't know how many reviews I've read that start off with 'I won't spoil anything' or 'It's at the beginning anyway' and just reveal plot details that I'd rather find out myself. So annoying.

Same thing I thought too. I was kinda surprised when I heard my friends praising the game, before it even came out. I can understand how game sites could praise the game and all because they can try out the exclusive Demos that they get, and ppl can also try it at E3, right? They should already add a Demo ready for download

i got both call of duty 4 and assassin's creed both for the ps3 for only $90 at bestbuy (they had a deal)

let me tell you that AC is good just the way it is. it delivers what the developers said the whole time, open world, no load time (even the cut scenes plays out while u could still move altair around)

dont believe the reviews, i read them just for the gist of it. but i would never let them influence me into buying a game.

AC is good, the fighting system they had is creative (a lot of reviews said they hated it but i thought it was awesome and looks natural)

the downside of AC is prolly the AIs. yea they're pretty dumb (when you use the blend option they would just let you go by) and ppl complained about glitches and stuff. i havent experienced any yet. just some minor clipping.

btw add my PSN  xMugen18 (Call of Duty 4, Madden NHL 08)

^ Nice one Mugen! Yeah a review at the end of the day is only an opinion. I really only base a game around an average score based on a collection of reviews. Metacritic has given Creed an 84 or something so far. That's a game I know I can safely buy alright.

I know it's the Playstation 3 thread, but there are rumours with the 360 version of Creed that there's a hidden harder AI difficulty level if you select Hard in your gamer profile (or something like that, I don't know much about the 360 yet). Last I heard, Ubisoft are looking into it.

For anybody that lives in the U.S, do you know if AC will be on sale for Black Friday? I remember a couple years back I bought a new game which had come out about the week before, and it was still at its orginal price. My friend had told me AC  was $69.99(wtf, why not just $59.99?). And I have just seen a list for games that would be on sale for friday, and AC was $59.99.

AC is retailed at $59.99 orinally, not on sale. There is a $69.99 limited edition, which your friend could have bought.

Man.. PS3 games are around 59 USD? PS3 games here are priced around 60-65 euro, which converts to 95 USD  :bleed eyes:

I finally played AC. I agree with Mugen, the AI is the biggest downside. Overal I liked it though.

It's the same in Australia, all the PS3 games here cost $100+ Au
IMHO Someone is making a HUGE profit from Aus game sales.

Recently you could get Call of Duty 4 for PC over Steam (Valve's online Software shop) for $49US which converts to like $56~ Aus, much cheaper than from the shops here.
BUT just the other day the price for Call of Duty 4 PC for AUSTRALIANS went up to $88US!! (that's exactly $100Aus) lol it's all fucked, if I get someone to log into my steam account in the US they can buy me COD4 $49 because they have a US IP.

Although I don't really want COD4 I played it on my friends computer and although it looks really cool and stuff, I just get bored of the "realistic" FPS games. I'm more of a non-realistic FPS gamer where you can take a rocket to the head and it only takes off 50 health.

Weird how I didn't come across this video sooner. Anyway, if you need more convincing on which console to get, this fella, Chad Warden, puts together a logical, sensible and in no way retarded opinion of why the PS3 is the choice of the connoisseur or visionary, like he is:

Btw, I doubt this is real. I don't think anybody can be that idiotic. I think....

I saw that a while ago and spread it around to a few people XD That guy is such a joke, the edited vids of him are hilarious

I find it scary that I quote him almost everyday and actually say "PS triple" now though...

I don't think I've ever looked at a console game yet and said wow that looks real but today, I think I said that lol

They're screenshots from GT5P I think I will have to get it :D even thought I suck at racing games, I'm a sucker for things that look really good. Maybe I'll buy a stearing wheel lol
I think they got the lighting for this game spot on. And because it's HD it's going to be soooo good to look at.

And it says here that the release date is tomorrow :O

Those screenshots look incredible :o No doubt GT will be a system seller. And I heard that this silly buying cars with real money nonsense is scrapped? Is that right?

See GT4 was the one I played seriously and I had mixed feelings about it. I think the biggest problem was that I'm not a car expert in any stretch of the imagination, so with all the technical terms flying about and statistics, I didn't know what the hell I was doing or how good/bad it would affect my car. Forza meanwhile, actually tells you which parts can affect your performance, and that was a big plus in my book. But this isn't a GT bashing, cause GT4 was fun to play, and the first ever GT holds a special memory for me (mainly because Ash was in the soundtrack )

^yeah! Ash and feeder FTW!

Btw, what you're saying isn't quite true. In GT4, in the tuning purchase section, with every part you could buy info scrolls in the bottom of the screen with how the part would affect the car.

^ 1977 is one of my favourite albums ever! :D

Yes that's true but like I said, I'm not a car buff! A description is nice, but I need some numbers or colour schemes or something to help me out XD

My problem is I totally suck at racing games altogether XD
I've never been able to know properly when to brake for corners and I usually end up trying to take them too fast.
I think the problem is that with games you don't get any feedback from it as to how fast you're really going so it's difficult to know if you're really going fast or not.
I still don't understand sometimes how the realistic type racing games always make you slide everywhere when you're trying to drive straight. I'm sure that doesn't happen in real life so I don't know why they make the cars do it in the game so easily.

I've always thought racing games should be as if you were in control of the "driver" of the car in a way that the driver is really good and can drive properly already. You're just telling him where to go and how fast to go. But games put you in control of the car itself which is really crazy because it's so hard to control a car with a console controller. I've tried with steerwheel once and that was even more hard to use.
Damn realistic driving games. So that is my rant about that, lol I'll probably still buy the game just cause it looks pretty though haha
