The last two movies I saw both were spanish!

Pan's Labyrinth, which was real good. A fairy tale grounded in a gritty war movie. It's neat when a movie forces the viewer to not just escape. I don't know if that's what the director intended, but it worked nicely.

And Volver, which was good too. A nice, pretty and non-scary ghost story with good acting. It was muuuch tamer than the other Almodovar movies I've seen (Talk to Her, All About My Mother, Bad Education). Probably the least interesting too =X

Blood Diamond, which was pretty good.

Dreamgirls, which was better than expected.  I usually hate musicals.

The Good Shepherd, which blew the first two movies away.  Stunning, wonderful, deep, suspenseful.  I can see how some people could have hated it, but I think it was the best spy movie I've ever seen.

Dead Man's Shoes - 8/10

Quote
Richard returns home from military service to a small town in the Midlands. He has one thing on his mind: revenge. Payback for the local bullies who did some very bad things to his brother. At first his campaign employs guerrilla tactics, designed to frighten the men and put them ill at ease. But then he steps up his operation, and one by one these local tough guys are picked off by the terrifying angel of vengeance that Richard has become.

A distinctly British revenge movie where, much like 'Oldboy' or 'Lady Vengeance', this movie shows how far a man can go to carry out revenge. It also raises a strong moral question, sure the druggies that harrassed the brother are scum, but do they deserve to die? Violent, atmospheric and chilling, I'd recommend it.

Silent Hill.
"Yo, microphone check one, two, what is this? The five foot assassin with the roughneck business"
"Are you my mummy?"
"Hello, Sweetie."
"Who's scruffy looking?"

Worlds Fastest Indian: Awesome movie, anthony hopkins does an incredible role. After reading up about the history of the story afterwards, it becomes clear that the movie stretches the truth a bit. But still, awesome!

Children of Men
I give it 8.5 out of 10.  The scene near the end where Clive Owen is trying to save the woman is worth the price of admission.
