It appears to be from some sort of H!P concert...that's clearly Tsuji off to the right. A photographer apparently had some incredible timing.

My Aibon story: Like my Mini Moni story, I couldn't give a fuck about the kiddies in Morning Musume at the time. Compared to H!P Kids, Aibon is like Al Pacino HOO AHH. All the skits she did, making Rika, Mari, Nacchi, Yuko just buckle down in laughter and pain gained my respect!! On top of all that her singing at high pitch and bun style defined a generation! Despite her scandals and mummy PBs, it's refreshing to see her back in the entertainment industry. Can't wait to see what she does next all on twitter!

Kago Ai will be releasing a jazz album on 24 March. The title is as of yet undecided. The retail price is 2,500 yen.

My Aibon story: Honestly I think it was the 4th generation introduction on Utaban and I wasn't a big fan but why not enjoy her weird humor

Other comments: Kago in my own opinion, was just pressured when she went into cigarettes and I felt sorry for her. Then, a lot of the stuff came out for her and it was more meant to tear away from her idol past and that took the soul of me liking her more. Then, I saw the mecha clip and Okamura was more of the teacher and I felt instead of being funny he came with a serious look at her and I don't know how to explain it in a way as it was touching and he gave her luck with her own career choices. I think it didn't change her but more sculpted her to be much more mature than before. Now, she is forcing a lot of moves and maybe taking another break or leave the entertainment business to resolve some issues internally IMO.

My Aibon story: Years before I knew of her musical career, I would watch Kago on TV every week in the drama Kochira Hon Ikegami Sho, but her small role on the show meant that I didn't think too much of her back then...to the point that I didn't recognize her when I first learned of Minimoni. Later on general H!P interest sparked by Ayaka's Surprise English Lessons led me to learn more about her, but it wasn't until I saw a list of her TV appearances that memories of her in that show finally started flooding back--I knew I'd seen this girl before! Since then it's been both good and bad vibes as I simultaneously learned of her key contributions to H!P's golden era and her latter day scandals and issues...but mostly good as I started looking into her recovery from those dark times.
Favorite thing(s) about Aibon: Much like the rest of 4th gen, she's a mult-faceted goofball. Ditching the script on Utaban, coming up (or is it down?) 2 points shy of the Bakajo title, countless impressions...at the same time, she's a cutie with a thinly-veiled dark streak, which sometimes produces classic moments like the Yaguchi gut punch, but also has led to unfortunate wrecklessness later on.
Favorite H!P group with Aibon: Salt5--imagine if she did that kind of music now...

A memorable performance: Going solo on the Boogie Train...

A picture that I like: I think she looks better with her bangs grown out...then again I think that of most women.

A video that I like: In case it gets deleted again, just know it's her appearance on Mechaike from last August...

Other comments: Ever since I've made myself known here and at H!O I've probably followed and talked about her more than I have for any other current/former member (including the two girls I've ranked higher than her). I guess it's because of a personal sympathizing towards her situation of losing everything and trying to bounce back from that, like I can relate to her on some level.

Of course, her trips to America and mission to learn English has also had an influence. Her recent photobooks may be questionable but I think it's best that she gets that shit out of her system now so she can finally move on...and hopefully her next single will be closer to my tastes!
