^I feel the same way. I'd heard about her Mitsuwa appearance literally days before it happened, and my girlfriend's folks live in New Jersey, so we hauled butt to get down there. I'm really glad there was a small crew of her fans there, but I was also just... kind of sobered when we took our places in the small, roped off area where she was appearing. I couldn't help but look at this in comparison to the massive arenas that she used to perform in, and think "all this, just because she's human", you know? Promoting cell phones and trying to rebuild her reputation from scratch.
But again, at the same time, in a lot of ways, I really admire her all the more for this. Falling from grace is never easy, and when you're at the very, very top... it takes a strong person to keep trying after that, especially in a country that has essentially washed their hands of you. It always makes me sad when Hello!Project OGs refer to her as "That Girl" when she comes up on TV spots, simply because their management won't let them talk about her (I assume). I just feel like she has so much courage, and has really, honestly grown up as a result of this, which is something she might never have done otherwise.
She's still so, so lovely.

(I'm so happy I found this picture. That's me with the glowing head!)
And amen. 4th Gen FOREVER.

So much spirit and personality! And Kago's voice is definitely at the top of my list. A lot of the girls improved with age, but Kago was strong right from the start, and she has an
amazing range. She was one of the few girls (along with Ayaya, Takahashi and Miki) who I feel could hold her own without any kind of backup.
