I guess I should write something for once

Here's an interesting part from
Shabekuri 007:
Ueda: After you graduate, would you be able to have a boyfriend? Ishikawa-san, after graduating, did you get a boyfriend straight away?
Ishikawa: I didn’t really have any of that experience so even if there was that wonderful person I wouldn’t know what to do.
It was quite smart of Rika to dodge that question. I guess she's fully aware of how jealous her Japanese fans can be

How about some tidbits from 2005?
- Her older sister, “Mie” (some say it’s Mika), is 2 years older than her, she goes to Meiji University. Rika says she’s the “smart one”, and that she’s closer to Mie than to her younger sister.
- Her younger sister, “Yuria”, is 2 years younger than her, is a highschool student, and is on her school’s basketball team. She’s really good, back in 9th grade, she was chosen to play in Kanagawa-ken team. Rika says Yuria likes to spoil her.
- Yuria isn’t the only basketball player in the family. Mie was, too, back in grade school and Rika also used to play basketball in elementary school. Because of her height, she switched to tennis in junior high school.
- Rika’s dad is a big fan of Hanshin Tigers (a baseball team), and that makes Rika a fan as well. They even name their family dog “Lucky” after the Tigers’ mascot. (Tigers’ mascot is called “Trackey” from Tora+Lucky)
- Rika’s scared of chicken because her mom used to chase her with chicken when she was little.
- Rika’s mom is not a fan of Fuyu Sona!
- Rika’s mom does get online and read Rika fansites. She also reads fanletters.
- Rika lives in Tokyo with her older sister.
- Rika has a pet cat.Ok, most of those are obviously pretty outdated

Lol... wasn't being serious about the Sayu thing. But I really haven't come across any H!P members I dislike. Sayu is the only one who comes close though... I don't hate her (I can't hate somebody I don't know, that's just silly), but there's something about her I just can't warm up to.
LOL Sayumi is actually like my least favorite MM member of all time
Yeah, agreed. The biggest problem is that a lot of people just misunderstand Rika.
They come to conclusions too quickly. Morning Musume is after all a large group of girls, and it's a lot easier to keep tabs by identifying individuals based on a certain character, which the girls appear to try to cultivate ASAP to make them distinct from the others (e.g. Yossie the funny tomboy, Nono & Tsuji the little trouble makers, Eri the idiot, Sayumi the cuter-than-life-itself self-absorbed usa-chan peace founder, Ai... just Ai... o.o etc.). However, Rika is a person of many layers (more so than the average H!P member I dare say) and what seems to happen is that people only associate her with a certain persona (whether that be the self-praising egotistic person, the overly cutesy Charmy, or the uptight bossy-boot etc.). They discredit everything else that Rika is.
Too bad people don't give her a chance to win them over… they’re so missing out. Rika may confuse because there’s always more to her than meets the eye. She’s complex. And I guess there are those who just can't handle it.
Yeah, the problem is that a lot of people can't tell the difference between on and off screen personalities. Rika's old character might have been overly positive and narcissistic but it doesn't mean that she really was like that. The Hello! Project girls have always had manufactured personalities: their on screen characters are either exaggerated versions of themselves or nothing like their real personalities. Rika has stated that she used to be a really negative person but then she created the Charmy Ishikawa character which helped her to overcome her negative feelings. Charmy Ishikawa also helped Rika to stand out in Morning Musume, which was packed with talent back then. The real Rika might have been boring and forgettable especially since she was surrounded by loud & crazy girls like Kago, Tsuji, Yaguchi etc. Anyways Rika has matured a lot since her graduation and she doesn't even act like Charmy anymore. I guess most Rika-haters are basing their opinions on what Rika used to be like when she was still in Morning Musume. I can definitely see why some people find Morning Musume's "Charmy Ishikawa" annoying but the post-MM Rika is much more mature and more importantly real. Different strokes for different folks but the old school Rika-haters should definitely give her another chance

I don’t know about anybody else, but I’ve done little worshipping over her body. I mean, she has a divine figure and all, but that’s certainly not what has gotten me so fond of her. I’m in complete awe because of how much of a great, all-around entertainer she is. And all the girls in MM are good lookers, sure thing, but Rika just owns because of everything else that she represents. <3
No doubt! There's nothing wrong with worshipping Rika's body but she's definitely much, much more than just

material. Rika's without a doubt one of the most interesting Japanese idols ever: her TV appearances are always entertaining & funny BUT she also has quite an interesting off screen personality. Gotta love a girl who likes both super girly fashion stuff and manly things such as violent action flicks & sports <3
Rika has a real caring and compassionate heart. I’d read some comments on the video before I had actually seen it, so it was at the top of my list to watch and I was looking for it all over the place. Found it here at JPH!P (
) and rejoiced. Watched it, cried, and loved Rika even more by the end. I wonder how many other idols would go through the same experience whole-heartedly to help others in need. (… J-idol Ishikawa Rika drank that water and was not afraid to hold a child who had an infectious skin condition O.o ...
)
True dat! Rika is truly an amazing role model

*ends adoring Rika rave*
Epic post!

ALSO, with the Charmy thing (EVERYONE thinking she's super self-centered); I realized that I did a similar thing the other day. Where my friend was talking, and mentioned "...she's the coolest person I've ever met" about her best friend. I pop in and say "well, second coolest to me, right?" I was TOTALLY joking, but I realized. Doesn't everyone joke around like this?
No doubt! I diss and make fun of my homies all the time but it doesn't mean that I don't love 'em. Anyways like I said earlier "Charmy Ishikawa" is nothing more than a character and the real Rika is most likely nothing like Charmy. Rika actually seems quite down to earth and she never gives me stuck-up vibes. And she really cares about her fans!
Phew, that was my longest post since my
epic post #20k but fuck it, I LOVE RIKA
