Spurs get their first win of the season, oh yea.

Long season to go, though.

WOOO!!! Lakers spank the hated Suns  :shakeit:

on another note, they said that Bulls fans were chanting Kobe's name during the Bulls-Sixers game
Sounds like they really want Kobe

SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Manu Ginobili got the signal from San Antonio Spurs teammate Tim Duncan and took off running.

By the time the Sacramento Kings had regrouped, Duncan was in the midst of hurling a court-length pass to Ginobili for an easy layup at the other end.

Welcome to Friday night football, Spurs style.

My Spurs beat the Kings in resounding fashion last nite.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson taught the young Minnesota Timberwolves a couple of lessons about life in the NBA in their first game without Kevin Garnett.

The first? Reputation goes a long way in this league.

The second? The fourth quarter is the only one that matters.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INDIANAPOLIS -- Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade has been cleared to play after recovering from the left knee and left shoulder surgeries he had in May.

Dwyane Wade

Wade

Miami coach Pat Riley didn't put a timetable on Wade's return to the lineup. In the announcement before Friday's game against the Indiana Pacers, Riley said Wade has been practicing, but without making any contact.

Riley plans to be careful in bringing back his All-Star.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Two games, two down-to-the-wire wins for the Indiana Pacers and new coach Jim O'Brien.

Danny Granger was 10-for-13 from the field and had 25 points and nine rebounds to help the Pacers beat the Miami Heat 87-85 on Friday night.

The Pacers overcame a seven-point deficit with four minutes left. On Wednesday, they beat Washington in overtime.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PHOENIX (AP) -- The Phoenix Suns got home at 4 a.m., then sleepwalked through their home opener. The result was a 119-98 rout at the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers.

More games like this and Kobe Bryant might not want to leave Los Angeles.

This is what I'm talking about, Lakers gave the Suns a beatdown.
No "D" playing Suns got tore up, yea mang.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BOSTON (AP) -- Kevin Garnett walked off the court raising his right index finger to the cheering crowd. By his side, Paul Pierce did the same -- a rare gesture of triumph for the long-suffering Celtics star.

There was 2:30 left in the game and Boston had been in control since the middle of the second quarter. The Celtics beat the Washington Wizards 103-83 on Friday night, opening their most promising season in Pierce's 10 years with the club.

"I'm at a place right now in my career, I couldn't ask for anything better," said Pierce, who led Boston with 28 points.

Garnett, Pierce and Ray Allen, the Celtics new big 3, tore up the Wizards soundly.
So much for Gilbert Arenas' so-called "guarantee" that the Wizards would beat the Celtics in Bostons home opener.
He opened mouth and inserted foot, rightly so.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There's only one game on that's on tv, NBATV that is, Blazers @ Rockets.
That one plus 6 other games going on tonite.

Suns wins and Amare is back. Nash is literally carrying the team in assist and in points. Marion is a monster rebounder and he's not even a PF.
