I had a bad feeling about this game when I heard it would be starting at 12:30 pm.
The Lakers just haven't been playing well for any of the previous nationally televised games on Sundays at 12:30.

Maybe the timing throwing off Pau's pre-game nap schedule or something.
I'm not even joking with this. I heard he likes to take a siesta before games that start in the evening.
His energy level, his figures, just all shitty in today's game.

Whatever it is, Phil and the coaching staff are going to have to figure out something to deal with CP3.
Not worried though. If Pau plays like he normally does versus the Hornets, this series is over in 5.

And yes, it's crazy how much trouble the 7th and 8th seeds are giving in the first games.
I don't see any huge upsets in the first round, but you never know.

Trey Johnson actually impressed me quite a bit.
Can't deny the dude's got hustle, rising up out of the D-league like that and making an immediate contribution.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised though since according to wiki, the dude's a D-league all-star.

Report: Ex-Piston Oliver Miller arrested on assault charges at barbecue

Detroit News

Former Piston Oliver Miller was arrested on assault and gun charges in Edgewater, Md., a Washington D.C. television station is reporting.

Miller, who played for the Pistons in 1994-95, allegedly pistol whipped a man at a barbecue, WUSA9 reported on its website Tuesday. Miller, 41, wasn't at the home in Arnold, Md., when police arrived, but eyewitness accounts led to his arrest.

Miller, who went to college in Arkansas and played nine seasons in the NBA, never got his immense weight issue under control, routinely hovering over the 300-pound mark. During his one season in Detroit he averaged 8.5 points and 7.4 rebounds.

He last played in Minnesota in 2003-04.

According to the report, Miller is being charged with first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment, having a handgun on person, using a handgun in a violent crime, possessing a handgun in a vehicle, disorderly conduct and other related charges.

HELLUVA better performance tonight. can't help it, even if CP3 flops his way thru the series, and even tho they locking down on Gasol. Kobe facilitating so of course he scored less, everyone else went off, esp. the Bench.

Kobe saved some sick shit. Trev going down...

that makes IT OFFICIAL!! there will be a Game 5 at Staples and I'm a be there with my homegirl :D

to be continued....:jphip:

^ Add game 2 to their belt

I was watching the latter part and found that either LA was sleepwalking or the arena was too cold because they were shooting threes that were not even close.  Also, if Artest does get suspended, he totally deserved that one because in frustration, you gotta keep your cool.  If the Lakers do fall in game three I think they will not come back, they look bad tonight, in all phases. :nervous

WHAT A PLAYOFFS!!! Can't believe the first round upsets. Grizz look insane. Celtics and Lakers better happen! I KNOW IT.

First round just barely got by...Bynum beasting holy man amongst boys. Okafor and Grey never had a chance. Kobe just massaging his foot back to life is nothing short of a miracle. FUCK watching him sprain it, all the hopes just flash before your eyes but then you see him stand and you know Mamba is gonna be back.

Flashes of brilliance is what the defense was though. Artest bullied CP3 well. Mamba kept bringing it night after night. What more does he need to do, he sacrifices himself for the team...now how does he just make 4th on the MVP ballot? Fucking joke.

Went to Game 5 of the Lakers Western Confernce First round series vs the Hornets with Fenrir. Hung around and got free Vitamin Water posters, saw KURT RAMBIS!! former Laker and coach doing the local TV with former Laker Norm Nixon and Billy MacDonald and mugged it up with the fans. Met up with Fen and we just got in time for the national anthem and player intros! and time to boo Ariza! lol we ran down the hall to dem upper upper decks. But clearly you could see the behind the bench WOOT Lakers Playoff Magic!

Did all the DE-FENSE!!! and Lakers chants. Even the stupid DAY-OH. THEN BOOM SHAKALAKA!! Kobe turned back the clock and posterized Okafor RIGHT IN FRONT OF US!! - Fen was like "that was sweet" kinda look

They said it was the loudest most playoff atmosphere Staples had been all series. I think we had something to do with THAT NO DOUBT JPH!P STYLE. Tons of celebs in the house, even Senor Chang!

We did the WE WANT TACOS and got Free Tacos! for Lakers holding their opponent under 100 points.

Nice try Trev.

And this is why the Mavs series fucking frustating the hell out of me. Bench not making any shots. The same ol pick and roll slaughterhouse since Shaq was trying to move his feet and making midget guards into HOFers. THE FUCK.

Smack the fucking bitch across the head, not after the game Ron Ron. Whatever. Citizenship Award irony. Where was this manhandling of Dirk??

Pau get in low and be aggressive!!! :tama-mad: There are moments where they swarm and hustle, but bitches like Matrix flail. Set the tone early and stop making Tyson Chandler look like Shaq in his prime.

Lakers in 6 bitches. These are the same Mavs led by their superstar who led them into the 2006 Finals with a 2-0 lead. 2004 vs the Spurs and the 0.4, history has been repeated. Sorry Thimmy, the chips are on the line. Lakers all the way baby. All we gotta do is win one game, says Kobe, who needs 3 points to pass Shaq on NBA's all time playoff scoring list!!

And for you Laker Haters and Doubters, stop hating Life. Kobe is a once in a generation type player. The Lakers are a once in generation type team for the ages. They may get retooled and reload for another three-peat so keep on whining. Not enjoying Kobe and the Lakers is like saying Rika's ass is flat. So fuck you all, esp. Charles Barkley.

"To Make History You Have To Do Historic Things."

WHY ARE WE SO DEFIANT! WE GOT KOBE BRYANT!

Goddamn, watching the end of that game made my head hurt.
I keep telling (deluding?) myself that even though no NBA team has come back to win a 7 game series after going 0-3, there's gotta be a first time.
I mean hell, it never happened in baseball until 2004!

But really, for now I gotta get my mind off this loss.
My head is killing me.

Lakers got this. Mullin and Rose said in 7. So be it. As Andrew Bynum said on twitter:

MAKE HISTORY!

Game 3 missing Ron sure hurt with 3 point defense but whatevs. Phil took too long to play his mind games. This is still a team with Kobe and LO, and Pau will get his head out of his ass. I always believe Purple and Gold. I believe in Kobe. WIN JUST ONE.

My Twitter feed was abuzz about a cheap shot in today's LA-Dallas game so I tuned to ESPN minutes ago.

Bynum...  Did anyone spit on him as he was leaving the arena, baring his naked chest to the enemy crowd?
