Konami just announced Silent Hill 8 for 360 and PS3. Less combat please. And quick note, you don't have to have the nurse monsters or Pyramid Head used over again. Wonder how the music will turn out now that the composer has left.

... Silent Hill 8? Wait, what? The last SH I played through was SH 5 Homecoming... what are these three other games I've missed? O_O And Akira Yamaoka left? Oh maaaan. :/ Oh well, might still be worth a try XD

I just watched the Epic Mickey trailers, and OH MY GOD. So excited! It's like... my dream version of what Kingdom Hearts should be like XD I really love Kingdom Hearts, but I don't really care much for the FF characters they insist on cramming in there :P Plus with KH2 and 358/2 Days the plot just got really... weird and unnecessarily "complicated". More Disney awesomeness please~ ^_____^

Just a little less than a month to go now until E3 kicks off again this year. Last year was a nice return to form for the event after having been downplayed over the past couple of years and this year looks to continue the trend with some big games already on the horizon. May as well kick off discussion by asking what games or announcements are you looking forward to seeing more of? Or perhaps what do you even hope will be announced? For me, I'd like to see more of:

Wii 2
NGP (Sony's new handheld)
Zelda : Skyward Sword
Assassins Creed : Revelations
Batman : Arkham City
Bioshock Infinite
Deus Ex : Human Revolution
The Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim
Shadows of the Damned
The Last Guardian
Battlefield 3
Modern Warfare 3
Mass Effect 3
Final Fantasy XIII-2/Versus/Agito
Catherine
Street Fighter x Tekken

And on my wish list I'd be super stoked if the following were announced:

Shenmue 3
Mirrors Edge 2
Persona 5
Virtua Fighter 6
Metal Gear Solid 5
GTA V
Bayonetta 2

You know, I was gonna mention Devil May Cry 5, but then I remembered they're doing that remake :(

Just as a note, E3 starts on Jun 7, but Sony and Microsoft like to have their pre-event conferences before then, so expect some announcements from them a few days earlier.

Wow, I feel like E3 2011 is approaching us fast. I would definitely like to see a new GTA. I'm also hoping that they'll reveal more of Saints Row 3, seeing as though it was originally supposed to debut at last year's E3, and then the travesty that was the Spike Video game awards.

An announcement for a western release of Yakuza of the End would be nice as well.

Love me some E3 oh yea. Gimmie some:

Mass Effect 3
-Some looks at some of the planets and locations. Introduce some of the companions. Maybe a walk through of the even more improved Normandy. Elevators return so no more immersion breaking 30 second plus long load screens or mission complete stat screens. (85% chance)

Skyrim
-Demo on stage at one of the press conf. Although it's the type of game that doesn't show well in that type of setting, i just wanna see it. (100% chance)

Bioshock Infinite
-A trailer, some gameplay. (90% chance)

MGS Rising
- A better idea what the heck game is. More cool demo's of stuff getting cut in half. (60% chance)
MGS 5
- Some kind of epic teaser/trailer like all metal gear games. Also please make it a continuous adventure like 1-3 not broken into missions like the psp games and 4. Also make snake bad ass again and have a cool semi futuristic setting and bosses. What would really rock my socks would be a MGS style action game but set in the snatcher or policenauts universe with some adventure elements. Also a ZOE game this generation would be a nice treat. (5% chance  :()

Resident Evil 6

-Hopefully it's really scary and in Racoon City.

Project cafe
- Console reveal along with delicious new Mario game, Metroid from Retro Studios, brand new Animal Crossing. Proof of concept demos for the touch controller. (95% chance)

New Xbox
- Specs and maybe a teaser or tech demos. (20% chance)

New Playstation
-Pretty much same as xbox. (10% chance)

God I love new console generation time.

List of others since i'm lazy typing details.
Gears Of War 3 - (100% chance)
Soul Calibur V - (100% chance)
Uncharted 3 - (100% chance)
Journey - (100% chance)
Diablo 3 - (80% chance)
Hitman 5 - (75% chance)
Sly cooper 4 - (50% chance)
Versus XIII - (20% chance)
Half Life 3 - (2% chance :()
KOTOR 3 - (2% chance :()
GTA 5 - (2% chance)
The Last Guardian
God of War 4
The Darkness II
Rayman Origins

Perfect Dark 2
Doom4

Last but most important:
Dreamcast 2 launch games include Shenmue 3, Ristar 2, Daytona USA, NFL2K12, Phantasy Star V and Minecraft with exclusive Chao raising mod. Hooks up directly to your brain, it's thinking 11.11.11 (sorry skyrim)

A surprise or 2.

I honestly don't expect any new console news from Microsoft. They have a Kinect install base to make happy & there is nothing that would warrant some announcement. Nintendo's Project Cafe I don't think Microsoft sees as a sign to get a new console going & Sony's recent troubles says to me Microsoft has nothing to worry about.

But hey, E3 has a history of surprises.

It's just right around the corner! Next week even! I don't see any major announcement from Microsoft, they have Kinect which I'm sure they want to focus more attention to before turning to a new console. Sony's in a similar situation with the Move. I'm interested to see Project Cafe (stupid name).

To add one to my wishlist, I hope Project Gotham Racing 5 gets announced. Seeing as Bizarre Studios is no longer involved (sadly) I hope the successor realises the main strength of the series stemmed back as far as Metropolis Street Racer for the Dreamcast. So PGR5 will have all the gameplay and shiny graphics to match PGR4 but this time, they give each city their own radio station with DJ's that speak in that country's native tongue and music native and unique to that country as they did with MSR and PGR2. Also, they have a day/night cycle as they did with MSR, so you can drive in racetracks in London at 15:00PM and it will be day time but drive in say, Tokyo, and it will 23:00PM where you drive at night.

Honestly, to me, that would be the most perfect racing game of all time. You have no idea how disappointed I was to find PGR4 didn't have DJ's but this generic ass soundtrack that you could play in any city. It completely killed the personality of the series and even removed the heart and soul from driving, as good as the gameplay actually was.

But hey, E3 has a history of surprises.

I don't know if they will announce anything, I just know that starting with 360 Microsoft REALLY put a big emphasis on being first to market (there is a interesting book called The Xbox 360 Uncloaked that details the development of the 360). I think they expected the PS3 to come out in 05 so they really expedited the 360s development so they could at least get out at the same time. I don't know if they feel the same way with Nintendo being first as they would with Sony but I don't think a teaser of what to expect next generation would be out of the question. Kind of like they did with teasing "project natal" a couple years ago not really showing what it looks like or giving specifics but getting people talking before the reveal the next year. Kinect will probably get a lot of time too. MS makes money on the Kinect hardware so i think a lot of the stuff will be in line with Dance Central 2 and optional noveltys added in for regular games.

Also after hearing some details of Bioshock Infinite that is probably my most anticipated game to see.

Some interesting predictions on a special edition of the Giant Bombcast over the weekend. Who knows if they'll really be true or not but they're interesting nonetheless. Like, with the 3DS not doing as well as expected and hinging on the success of Project Cafe, could Nintendo's future end up like Sega's where it's software only and they could make a lot of people happy and make a lot of money in the process?

Harmonix have said they plan to announce a game, so Dance Central 2 doesn't seem out of the question.

  • TOMB RAIDER®, from Redwood City–based studio Crystal Dynamics®, ratchets up the intensity and takes gamers into the world of Lara Croft as they have never seen before.
  • A new tale continues the story of FINAL FANTASY® XIII. With new characters come new destinies in FINAL FANTASY XIII–2, which will be playable for the first time at E3.
  • Gaming in 2011 gets augmented with DEUS EX®: HUMAN REVOLUTION™ from Eidos–Montréal, marking the series’ triumphant return.
  • Agent 47™ takes on his most dangerous contract to date in HITMAN® ABSOLUTION™ from IO Interactive A/S.

  • Obsidian Entertainment’s DUNGEON SIEGE® III offers intuitive action gameplay, a robust RPG system with an extensive selection of abilities, an endless variety of loot and an engaging storyline.
  • WAKFU® is a fantasy MMO adventure with a tactical combat system and a unique anime style from Ankama Studio.

Journey is the game i await the most with From Dust, Child of Eden, Tokyo Jungle and Ico/Shadow of the Colossus HD. I didn't mention The Last Guardian because it only comes out in 2012. I'm very curious about El Shaddai, Catherine and Way of the Samurai 4.
