Can't wait for the new Proof album to come out soon. It's sad to see him gone from D-12.

Anybody know where I can get some Lil Jon albums? my friend borrowed one of mine and he lost it.

"It's Official," Wu Tang Clan Sign Album Deal With SRC

SRC Records CEO Steve Rifkind recently announced that he has reunited with the Wu-Tang Clan for a new album.

Wu-Tang, who first came to prominence via Rifkind's now-defunct Loud Records, have not released a group album since 2001. During their six-year hiatus, all nine members of the New York rap collective have released solo albums.

The group's most infamous member, ODB (born Russell Tyrone Jones), died in 2004 from an accidental overdose while recording his third solo project.

"I just got off the phone with Divine and RZA from Wu-Tang, we are coming back, we are joining forces for one album, coming up in 2007," said Rifkind via a video on his blog, thelabel.blog.com. "I don't know what the name of the album is but we are back, its official. Wu-Tang and Steve Rifkind are back together."

Rifkind is also credited for breaking rap acts like Mobb Deep, Big Pun and Xzibit, among others. His current SRC roster includes Akon, Remy Ma, Pharoahe Monch and Remy Ma.

"Somebody told you that hip hop died, I dunno who it was but somebody lied"

There's a  new Pete Rock & Doo Wop (Tango & Cash) track called "Hip Hop Ain't Dead".  Its a dope track.  Heard it on hiphopgame dot com.  Its really a response than a diss track, i feel.  I like was Nas did with this Hip Hop is Dead business.  I hope everyone responds and steps their game up.

Wu-Tang again?  Awww yeah! Again and again!

Another one of my favorite MCs is dropping an album next year. That's right, Brother Ali is finally back!

"Following the release of Champion in the spring of 2004, Ali ran into a number of roadblocks that halted his usually steady recording process. This included him parting ways with his wife, being homeless, and trying to secure custody of his son. Armed with a wave of stories to share, Ali recorded The Undisputed Truth, once again with ANT in his corner. Due out Spring 2007 on Rhymesayers, Ali’s second full-length sees him dig deeper into his life experiences (“Walking Away”) and political views (“Uncle Sam Goddamn”) than ever before.

“I wanted to make an album that gives you no choice but to feel what I’m feeling at the time,” Ali explains of The Undisputed Truth. “I made choices that sent me through a lot of struggle in the past few years and ANT and I have made music that really communicates the exact feeling of those situations.”

As he ponders, “How does it feel to have to walk away from a ten-year marriage with a child? You got a six-year-old boy and he’s your life. How does it feel to look him in the eye and explain to him that you’re breaking up his home? The music and the sound of my voice and the way I’m describing the situations and emotions involved should make you feel like you’re in my shoes at that moment. That’s The Undisputed Truth.”

That Pharaohe Monch mixtape is dope, I already grabbed it myself a few days ago. d(^_^d)

And this is big news for the Wu...I always thought what daigong thought...RZA said they got something they're working on and it'll be 'soon'... but this makes much more sense, I hope they don't have too many collaborations though...unless they're good...lol

Nas Resurrects Hip-Hop, Scores Top Spot On Billboard Charts

"Nas' Def Jam debut, Hip Hop Is Dead, makes a strong entrance on the charts this week, taking the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200. Hip Hop Is Dead, which features appearances from Jay-Z, Kanye West, The Game, Kelis and Snoop Dogg, grabbed the top spot by reeling in 355,000 copies last week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. This is the third time in Nas' career that he has scored a No. 1 album. The others being 1996's It Was Written and 1999's I am...The Autobiography."

Danger Mouse Forms Producer "Supergroup," Drops Compilation

"Producer Danger Mouse of Gnarls Barkley fame has formed a new group of renowned beatmakers called The Underground Animals and is currently putting together a compilation album set for release next year via Downtown/Atlantic Records.

According to Downtown co-founder Josh Deutsch, who recently spoke to Billboard, The Underground Animals will be an animated collective in the same vein of the rock group Gorillaz, but their true identities will be kept under wraps.

The participating producers will be brought to life courtesy of animation from Adult Swim.

"We have some very celebrated producers and some up-and-comers, all of whom are arranged around Danger," Deutsch explained to Billboard. "Everybody is producing under a pseudonym. For the introductory album, the idea is that each song will feature a different producer working with a different artist, but 'there won't be a reveal as to which producer is doing a given track.

"There will be an element of mystery about it -- certain producers will be retired," Deutsch continued. "And many of these people are some of the most famous producers out there. It will allow them to produce the kinds of records they wouldn't necessarily want to do without the benefit of a pseudonym. We've already had a really A-list rock guy wanting to do a hip-hop record."

As SOHH previously reported, Danger Mouse is also putting together Gnarls Barkley's sophomore album with his group mate Cee-Lo. The duo's debut album, St Elsewhere, is up for multiple Grammy Awards, including album of the year."

Verse of the Year: R.A. The Rugged Man - Uncommon Valor: A Vietnam Story

"Call me Thorburn, John H., staff sergeant
Marksman, skill in killin', illin', I'm able and willin'
Kill a village elephant, rapin' and pillage a village
Illegitimate killers, US Military guerrillas
This ain't no real war, Vietnam shit
World War II, that's a war, this is just a military conflict
Soothin' drug abusin', Vietnamese women screwin'
Sex, gambling and boozin', all this shit is amusin'
Bitches and guns, this is every man's dream
I don't wanna go home where I'm just an ordinary human being
Special Op, Huey chopper gun ship run shit
Gook run when the minigun spit, won't miss
Kill shit, spit four-thousand bullets a minute
Vic the Charlie, hit trigger, hit it, I'm in it to win it
Get it, the lieutenant hinted, the villain, I been it
The killing, I did it, cripple, did it, pictures I painted is vivid, live it
A wizard with weapons, the secret mission, we 'bout to begin it
Government funded, behind enemy lines
Bullets is sprayin', it's heatin' up a hundred degrees
The enemies the North Vietnamese, bitch please
Ain't no sweat, I'm told, "Be at ease"
Until I see the pilot got hit, and we 'bout to hit some trees
Nail the road, it broke, crash land
American man in Cambodia, right in the enemy hand
Take a swig of the Whiskey to calm us
Them yellow men wearin' black pajamas, they wanna harm us
They all up on us, bang, bang, bullet hit my chest, feel no pain
To my left, the captain caught a bullet right in his brain
Body parts flyin', loss of limbs, explosions
Bad intentions, I see my best friend's intestines
Pray to the one above, it's raining, I'm covered in mud
I think I'm dyin', I feel dizzy, I'm losin' blood
I see my childhood, I'm back in the arms of my mother
I see my whole life, I see Christ, I see bright lights
I see Israelites, Muslims and Christians at peace, no fights
Black, Whites, Asians, people of all types
I must've died, then I woke up, surprised I'm alive
I'm in a hospital bed, they rescued me, I survived
I escaped the war, came back, but ain't escape Agent Orange
Two of my kids born handicapped
Spastic, quadriplegia, micro cephalic
Cerebral palsy, cortical blindness, name it, they had it
My son died, he ain't live, but I still try to think positive
'Cause in life, God take, God give"
