wow, i got a lot less comments than I expected... maybe it was the timing of my post?
oh well, still moving on to the second chapter of the day~

Chapter 91 “I really don’t want to do this,” Risa groaned. “I seriously don’t want to do this.”
“But you promised!” Eri whined. “You can’t send me in there alone!”
“Reina and I’ll be right outside,” Ai comforted. “We’ll wait for you.”
“Stop being an idiot and just go in,” Reina grumbled.
The four girls were standing outside of room 305, otherwise known as the room of a certain bunny none of them had the desire to face. After they all had lunch together, the yankii had driven them to the hospital so that Risa and Eri could settle the final matter with their long-time friend. The turtle was feeling a bit more mature and calmer about the situation, while the bean was still stubborn.
“Remember, I’m right outside,” Ai whispered, kissing her girlfriend’s head.
“Okay,” Risa sighed. She straightened her back and clenched her teeth. “Let’s go, Kameha.”
Eri nodded as she knocked on the door. There was no answer for a moment. Eri tried knocking again and this time, there was an answer to come in. Taking a deep breath, the two friends walked into the room and closed the door behind them.
A black-haired girl was standing by the foot of the bed, leaning on the wall; it was she who had answered the door. The patient was balled up on the bed with her head down, jet black hair trickling down her back. She was wearing pastel pink pajamas with no particular pattern. The atmosphere in the room was heavy with silence. Eri took a couple steps closer to the bed, followed by the bean.
“Sayumi.”
The patient didn’t look up. It seemed as though she was frozen in time. Eri looked at the pianist, who shook her head slowly with a sad expression. She nodded at the bean, encouraging her to give it a try. Risa bit down on her lips, not wanting to be too social. Eri nudged her side and glared at her, which made the bean take a small step forward.
“Sayumi.”
This time, the patient’s head flew up as she whipped around to see her visitors. Her eyes were big and wide, but bloodshot from lack of sleep and too much crying. Her lips were dry and chapped with creases; her white skin seemed even paler than usual.
“Risa-chan…” she breathed. She uncurled her body and stood up on her knees, pushing the bed sheets away from herself. She smiled shakily as her words came out in sharp puffs of air. “You… you came… back…”
“I didn’t come back to stay,” Risa said in a low voice. “I came back to—”
“Reconcile,” Eri interrupted, afraid her friend may say something too harsh. “We came back so that we can stay on good terms in the future.”
“… So you didn’t come back… to me…”
“Sayumi,” Risa started, putting some more determination in her voice, “I came back to tell you that what you did was wrong. It was wrong of you to use Eri to your advantage. It was wrong of you to lie to me and Ai-chan. It was wrong of you to hold me back and imprison me while you kept your offense a secret. Do you understand me?”
“Yes, I understand,” Sayumi said desperately. “Please, Risa-chan, please…”
“I wanted to look for Ai-chan for so long and you knew it,” the older girl continued. “Too bad I couldn’t do that because I forgot what she looked like, huh?”
“Risa,” Eri whispered, not satisfied with the scornful tone her friend was using.
“I don’t think I can ever forgive you, Sayumi,” Risa said quietly, calming down. “But I’m going to make the effort. Because you’ve been my friend for a very long time, so I hope the times we’ve spent together will make up for everything that’s happened. It’s vain hope, but that’s your last chance.”
“No, Risa-chan, please,” Sayumi begged, her features distorting in desperation, “come back to me. I can’t live without you, and I need you! Please…”
“No, not after what you’ve done,” Risa answered firmly. “I decided that from now on, I’m going to be true to my feelings no matter what the case is. I learned that from you.”
“Risa-chan, I can’t live a life without you!” Sayumi pleaded, balling her fists around her bed sheets. “Please… please…”
Eri bit down on her lips as she watched her cousin slowly break down, starting from her heart. She had never seen her so desperate before; it was the lowest and the most pitiful form of her cousin possible. Junjun clenched her teeth as she watched the girl she was in love with beg a different person to stay. But she didn’t make the discomfort show up too obviously on her face anymore; after all, the pain was usually there 24/7 now, so she was used to it. Especially after she learned the true nature of the bunny… But for some reason, she still couldn’t stay away from her. She still felt as though she needed to see her and protect her. Junjun had mixed feelings about this part of herself; on one hand, she thought she shouldn’t love someone so cruel like this. But on the other, she knew she wouldn’t be able to give up on Sayumi, even if she tried.
“This conversation is over,” Risa whispered quietly. “I’ve forgiven you so I want you to think about what you’ve done and repent.”
With that, the bean turned around and started to walk towards the exit. Eri shot a concerned gaze at her cousin for a brief moment before turning around as well. Sayumi started to scream out even louder, begging Risa not to go. The older girl shut her eyes tightly as she continued in her steps. However, the voice of the person who had stayed silent the whole time made her stop in her tracks and turn around.
“Michishige-san!”
Eri let out a loud gasp while Risa stayed frozen in her current position. Sayumi was sitting on the open windowsill with her back to the outside world. She was holding on to the side ledges so that she wouldn’t fall… yet.
“Oh lord…” Eri breathed, putting her hand over her right chest as she became paralyzed.
“Sayumi!” Risa shouted.
“If I can’t have you, then I’d rather die!” the black-haired girl screamed back. “Risa-chan… please, stay with me…”
“Sayumi, step away from the window right now!” Risa ordered. Although they were only on the third floor, falling backwards could give long-term injuries… as well as be fatal.
“Say that you’ll be with me!” Sayumi screamed, tuning out every other voice besides Risa’s. “Say it!”
“Michishige-san, please—”
“Sayumi, just—”
“Risa-chan, SAY IT!”
Suddenly, a loud bang of the door hitting the wall resonated in the room. Everyone turned to look at the perpetrator in shock, even Sayumi. The High-Queen leader was shooting an apologetic look to her girlfriend; she had her arms tightly around her partner’s waist. The yankii was struggling to break free, rage burning in her eyes.
“ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?” Reina shouted furiously, punching the wall with her fist.
“Hold your tongue, Reina!” Ai growled, trying to heave the yankii out without much success.
“Let me go, damn it!” the younger idol roared, breaking herself free from the leader’s hold.
“Reina-chan!” Eri yelled, worried about how her girlfriend’s action would affect Sayumi.
“You!” The yankii ignored her lover’s call and pointed at the shocked girl sitting on the windowsill. “You know why I hate you so much? Because you don’t seem to get how reality works! You’re stuck in your own little world, and expect everything to go your way!”
Ai cursed under her breath as Junjun stared at the younger idol. Eri gulped as she glanced nervously back and forth from her cousin to her girlfriend. Risa fixed her gaze on the angry yankii as Sayumi glared furiously at the intruder.
“If you love her,” Reina continued, jabbing a finger at the bean, “then it’s okay telling her! You can confess and you can try to convince. You can even beg like you’ve been doing just a couple minutes ago! But now, you’re not doing any of that. You’re threatening this girl to make an impossible choice!”
“Threatening her?” Sayumi questioned, laughing scornfully. “How so? It’s my life!”
“Yes, it’s your life that has left traces in other people’s lives!” Reina shouted.
Sayumi’s eyes widened as she tried to comprehend what she had just heard. Ai completely relaxed behind the yankii, having no more desire to pull her out of the room. Determinedly, Reina took a step forward.
“You’ve been a part of everybody’s lives in this room. If you die right now, you’re leaving a hole in all of our timelines. Here’s a fact: I personally don’t care if you commit suicide right now at this moment.” Eri breath hitched at this. Reina pointed to her and continued speaking. “But she’s the reason I
should care. Because you dying will affect your cousin and that will affect me. You would be killing a part of everybody’s lives in this room. That’s how you’re threatening those two girls right now, who you claim to be the two most important people in your life.”
Sayumi pursed her lips as she looked down at the floor. Were Reina’s words really true? Was she threatening her beloved Risa right now? Would she be killing a part of the bean by killing herself?
“Sayumi,” Eri said quietly, taking a small step forward, “please don’t do this to me. I’ve known you my entire life; don’t leave me like this. Sometimes, you don’t always get what you want in this world; I learned that the hard way. But then again, there are sometimes better things in store for you in the future.” The turtle shot a friendly look at the bean next to her, and then a loving one to her girlfriend.
“Better things in the future…” Sayumi echoed in a whisper.
“I may hate the things you’ve done,” Eri continued, “but I don’t hate you, Sayumi. So I decided to leave the past behind and continue loving you. I want to continue being your friend.”
The turtle smiled at her cousin, who was staring at her with wide eyes. Sayumi looked around the room to observe every person’s face. Ai’s features were smooth and expressionless, but showed no sign of hatred. Reina, who was so angry before, was now looking at her expectantly. Junjun was gazing at her pleadingly, but also caringly. And Risa was… smiling. She was smiling gently at the bunny, encouraging her to accept and move on.
“I… I…” Sayumi couldn’t say anything. What did she want to say? What was this feeling inside of her? Was it guilt or was it frustration? Did she still want to fight for what she wanted? Or did she want to repent?
The black-haired girl opened her mouth more but no words came out. She wrinkled her eyebrows in deep thinking as she tried to tune out everything except her own thoughts. Unconsciously, she forgot her surroundings and where she was exactly, until she felt the cold metal of the window ledge slipping out of her fingers.
She felt herself tipping backwards as she gasped in shock, unable to move. She could hear her cousin screaming her name as well as someone else. Risa? No… it wasn’t… this voice was calling her family name…
She felt something pull her arm up as she bent forward. In a split second, she met Junjun’s desperate eyes, determined in saving her. But the bunny’s weight was already over the window; the older girl could see that she didn’t have a chance of pulling Sayumi back into the room. So instead, she rolled her own body against the windowsill and hugged the patient tightly to her chest, as she felt a falling sensation. Sayumi could hear her and the panda’s name being cried out from the room. She shut her eyes tightly, thinking that she was going to die.
There was a loud thump as a series of shock ran through Sayumi’s body. After a couple seconds, she slowly lifted herself off the ground to see her savior underneath her. Her eyes were half closed and her breathing was slow; a thick red liquid was visibly seeping out her head.
“Junjun!” Sayumi shrilled in panic. She touched the side of the pianist’s head and felt the blood. “You’re bleeding!”
“Shige-san…” the older girl whispered weakly. “Are you… okay…?”
“That’s something I should be asking you, isn’t it?” Sayumi yelled. She still felt a little dizzy but at the moment, she needed to do something for Junjun. This girl who was always watching over her… she couldn’t just leave her to…
Sayumi felt a sudden warmth on her face as the older girl reached up and stroked her cheek.
“You’re safe…” she whispered, smiling. “Yokatta… yokatta…”
Her hands suddenly dropped to the ground as her eyes closed. Sayumi watched the girl who had just saved her with shocked eyes. She got off of her and sat down next to her, staring at her own bloody hands. Her eyes flickered back to the face of the girl who had loved her this entire time, despite the pain and the misery. She heard screams of her name from above but she didn’t look up. All Sayumi wanted to do was desperately scream out the name of the girl who had just saved her life… but her throat was knotted. But in her head, there was only one thing she could think of.
“
