Chapter 4
If I was a bird, I would fly to the distance. Fly to a place where no one could see me, but the sky and the sea. I would forget everything, leave everything. Fly until my wings give out. I would fall to sea and die drowning..down down down doooown..
"Uwaaaaaaaaaaa!" I gasp for breath. Im breathing heavily. A nightmare, it's as if im drowning for real.
I look at the clock, it says 5:50AM. Its been 5 days since we started our relationship, and things are going quite well. We usually hang out together after class, its either in her house or mine, and.. we usually.. nevermind.
Today's another normal day, nothing special and nothing in particular.
*beep beep*
Ah, I just recieved a text from Acchan.
-I cant come with you today Minami. I have some things to attend to today. Please go ahead of me, I'll make it up to you tomorrow I promise-
I guess I need to go home alone today.
"Minamiiiiiiiiii!" its Oshima-san. She looks energetic as always. She runs towards me
"Hey Oshima-san, how are you?" she looks exhausted from that running.
"Ano, do you want to hang out together tomorrow? We dont have any class anyways" She asked "You can bring Maeda-san along. You look so close to each other eh. Is there something between you two?"
"Ehhhhhhhhh???!!! No no no, there's nothing between us. Plus uhmmmmm..she's just my tutor" my heart starts beating fast. Shit, that's just a lame excuse I made. What to do? What to do? Waaaaa!
"And you're just blushing right now hahaha" Oshima-san gave a evil grin on her face. "So you're an L nee, Minami hahaha"
"Ehhhhhhhhh?!!!!! No no..what are you saying Oshima-san. Stop!" I turned, hiding the redness of my face. I can just tell anyone about us, Acchan help me!
Oshima-san continued laughing, argh why does she have to be like that? Hmmmmmp.
"See you tomorrow Minami!" she ran towards the opposite direction. "Bring Maeda-san along!"
I feel as if someone is following as soon as I left the school's 'Heaven's Gate', I feel so uneasy right now. I looked around hoping to find someone, but theres no one I ran towards the nearest 24/7 store to ease the tension and bought an energy drink. Yosha! Time to run!
Run! Straight ahead! Left! Right! Right! Straight! Left!
*THUD!*
I fell down hard, butt-first. Ack! I felt a sharp pain on my butt.
"Im so sorry. I wasn't looking..eh, Tomochin!?" I bumped onto my childhood friend. I grabbed her hand and helped her stand up. "Im so sorry. Soooooo sorry!"
"No worries Minami, I wasn't looking either" She dusted off her skirt with her hands. "Im sorry too"
"Ano, It's been a while since we talked to each other. How are you doing these days, Tomochin?" I asked though it looks pretty awkward in some extent.
"Pretty fine, I guess. Math is killing me right now" She said.
"Im sorry for being so sudden, but can we walk together since we live next to each other. Do you have any other places to go to?" I shamefully asked.
"I dont have any other place to go. Is something wrong?"
"Uhmmm..nothing nothing. I just thought that we should have a small talk since we didn't talk to each other for a while" I cant tell her that I feel so strange right now, because she might be creeped out.
We walked together along the narrow streets of the asphalt jungle under orange sunset.
"Quite nostalgic isn't it? When were in grade school we used to walk together like this" Tomochin recounted "I kinda miss the long walks we used to do.."
"Haha.. Me too" we recounted the past experiences that we had, everything feels like were kids.
We arrived at the front of my apartment. At last, no more stalker feeling.
"Ano, thank you so much Tomochin. I had fun" I said "I hope we can do this again"
She just nodded and smiled, I was expecting her to answer but didn't.
"Jaa matane~" I waved my hands and walked inside the gate of the concrete building.
"Wait! Minami.."
"What is it Tomochin?" I looked at her.
"...I like you..."
Girl's feelings are quite unpredictable. Me, even I can't understand myself.
"Tomochin, no.." I said to myself as I hide myself under the sheets.
