BEGINNER
Game 1:The Promise.
“I want you~ I need you~ I love you~”
White. All she saw was white. Vast and void space, can’t tell that where the end was. Everything was blank, except for her, brown orbs widen as she saw a white silhouette, dancing and singing happily like a music box.
She heard the voice before, but when was it?
“…. Ano…?” She spoke. The white hair girl seemed unnoticed, continuing singing her song.
“atama no naka…~” Atsuko titled her head, wondering why this girl was ignoring her. When she was about to turn away, the white hair girl appeared in front of her. Atsuko took a step back, shocked. The midget grinned, and murmured… no, sang the lyrics, as Atsuko started to feel dizzy, mind spinning around and landed on the ground.
“Atama no naka, gan gan natteru music, Heavy Rotation!!”
She remembered everything; from the accident, met this girl, the music box voice… memories came into her head, flipping through her page of life. The white hair girl smile slyly, and helped Atsuko to stand up. “So, I bet you have a lot a lot of questions in your mind, right?”
The ace remained silence, only kept her eyes focused on the white silhouette.
“I know I’m cute, but please don’t keep staring at me, it’s embarrassing.” She pouted. Atsuko’s stare did not stop, but moving closer and closer to the midget, as to examine her meticulously. Unable to defend herself, she tried to push the ace away, while she and the girl’s distance getting closer…
“…Ta..takamina?” Their face was an inch close, almost could felt her breath on her face. The white hair girl blushed furiously and managed to push the poker-face girl to the side. The girl fell right to ground, expressionless. Her face was still as red as a tomato.
“I’m not Takamina, as I said before, even though I assemble her.” Pulling up Atsuko’s hand, she said.
“Where am I? I remembered that I was lying on the ground….and then…” She scratched her head, hopping it could help her remember but did not work.
“… You died.”
Such simple words, yet it hurts Atsuko like a thousand blades slashing through her heart. Deep brown orbs widen, covering her head, as she mumbled, “I’m dead…? I’M DEAD…?”
She can’t accept the fact that she died, because of her best friend. She made a promise to her, and now she broke it.
“Acchan, live on without me, be strong.”
That was the last words muttered by her, Takahashi Minami. Atsuko still remembered the gory scene, where a figure was lying on the ground with pale expression. The ace grabbed her weak, painted with blood hand, close to her face. She was murdered, yet no one knew. Everyone thought that Minami committed suicide but in Atsuko’s heart, she knew that the midget had been murdered.
Minami was not an idiot, she would not kill herself.
The dagger that left in Minami’s body was thrown away by Atsuko. The ponytailed girl coughed, unable to suppress the pain from the deep wound. Atsuko tried to call the ambulance, but was stopped by her best friend. “Hey, I’m dying here, and I don’t want to die in an ambulance…” She smiled wryly. Atsuko watched the midget with a pair of watery eyes, as she tried hard to grab the ace’s hand back. She sighed, and gave her a weak pat on her head. Tears started flowing as she leaned over Minami, pressing her lips against hers. The electrifying overwhelmed all the other senses, even pain, and she found herself responding to the hungry kiss, unconsciously wanting more of this thrilling feeling. Even it was a slight, she felt that Minami gently stroking her tongue against hers. She opened her mouth, giving the midget a better access. While their tongue battled, she tasted something salty.
Atsuko stopped her movement and saw Minami, was crying with a grin. Her smile; a smile that could melt Atsuko’s heart instantly, was tainted with some blood on it. Actually, the ace wanted to continue, but seeing her in a state of this condition, she shook her head, declined the feeling towards the midget.
“… heh… Acchan… you took away my last breath…” Minami breathed heavily. “… I guess…this was a goodbye kiss…nee? Acchan…” Eyes almost half closed, part of her wanted to see more of the ace’s face, but mostly of her were tired, wanted to let it be. Atsuko grabbed her hand tightly, not wanting to let go. Her face was soaked in tears, with some stained blood on her lips as she got from Minami.
“Acchan, live on without me, be strong.”
The peaceful sky was broke by a shriek, moaning and yelling of the ace. She could not live without her best friend, but she promised her. She promised her that she will live on.
But then, right now, she had broken the promise.
“Such a pity, but you died.” The white silhouette chuckled lightly, but stopped as her orange orbs met the deadly glare of Atsuko’s.
They were still in the void space, watching the memories of Maeda Atsuko.
“Heh, but then, you are not officially dead yet, you are chosen to be one of the players!”
“..Eh? I’m not dead?”
“Nah, of course not, like I said, you have the qualifications to be reborn!”
“What…? Wait… that means I have a chance to reborn??! To live on as Maeda Atsuko?” Her glare softened.
“You’re talking silly, yes, that’s right, but only if you win the game…” replied the midget with a sly grin.
“Win….win the… game…?!”
