When the Time Stops
Chapter 13Winter season hasn't ended yet and despite of the cold atmosphere, my body temperature keeps on rising. We shared our third kiss. I can feel the softness of her lips moistened with tears against mine. The warmth of her breathe is making me lose my mind. I feel like I'm in a different space right now, where everything is timeless when I'm with her. I want us to stay like this forever.
"Minami... I guess I shouldn't stay." She said breaking off our kiss.
"Atsuko, I'm sorry... I know I hurt you but please... you don't have to go." I begged her again.
"If I stay any longer... I might do something I'll regret."
"Letting you go is more regretful. Atsuko, I meant it when I said you're important to me... I... I do love you, too!"
She just smiled with my answer and said...
"I know you'd say that. You're really kind, Minami. But you don't have to return my feelings out of pity."
"That's not true!" I yelled.
"You don't understand! The love I feel for you is different... I... I... need to go..."
She's reaching again for the doorknob again but I grab her wrist to stop her.
"Minami, let go of my....."
I captured her lips with mine. My actions became more aggressive and I don't plan to hold back anymore. I've never been so sure in my life like this. I know exactly what I feel for her.
"W-What are you do...." She tried to resist but I didn't stop. I can taste her mouth each time she opens it to protest. I didn't mean to... it just happened.
Our kiss deepens and it's making my knees go weaker, so I had no choice but to look for support. I pinned her against the door still not leaving her lips untouched. She's slowly putting her defenses down, she's now kissing me back.
What's happening? My body is now moving on its own. It's like my overwhelming emotions towards her is controlling me. Maybe she's right. I still don't know her, that's why I do want to know her more.
"Minami, wait!" She slightly pushed me off. "I-I'm not ready for this yet..."
Eh? Ready for what? My God... was she actually thinking that I'll do something to her?! I came back to my senses and immediately stepped back.
"I-I'm sorry! I-It's not what you think! I was carried away... I just want to prove you wrong and make you stay..." I apologized.
"This is your way of saying that? I admit... I was a bit surprised. But alright then, I won't leave tonight. So you don't have to worry." Atsuko smiled.
"Hontou ni? Thank you!!!" I jumped to hug her. Then I realized I got closer to her again.
"I-I'm sorry..." I moved back. "I just need to prepare things first so that we can sleep already." I left her and went to the bathroom.
After I freshened up, I looked for some
pajamas for her to wear. I handed them to her before her turn to go inside the bathroom. I was about to lay the futon down the floor when she got out.
"You can sleep on my bed, I'll just sleep on the futon." I told her.
"Minami, don't you want to sleep beside me? I don't bite." She said sitting down on my bed.
"It's not like that. This has always been the set-up whenever Yuko stays overnight here." I explained.
"Mou~ do you only treat me same as Yuko?"
"No... but..."
"We sleep on the same bed, okay?" She grabbed my arm and pulled me for a hug placing me on top of her.
"Hmm... this is so much better. And besides, your pajamas are a bit short for me. You should fix this, so you need to keep me warm tonight." She demanded and I couldn't complain about that.
I was totally caught off guard. Atsuko smells good. And with my head lying on her chest, I can hear her heart beat clearly. It's pounding so fast. I wonder if it's because of me.
"Ne, Minami... won't you give me a goodnight kiss first before you sleep?"
"Why are you so bold to ask for one?"
"I just took the courage to confess to you! That's even harder, you know!"
I give up, I know I can't win over this girl. I moved a little higher and planted a kiss on her cheek.
"Hey, that's not the kind of kiss you gave me earlier..." What is she whining about?
"Did I offend you? About that... I'm sorry I didn't mean to..."
"What are you apologizing for?" She cuts me off. "You made me happy when you did that. It's like you saying, you want to own me."
"I never do those kind of things before. You're my first kiss... and the only person I kissed." I confessed.
"Were you jealous when Mariko-senpai kissed me on stage?"
"Why are you asking about that now? What will you feel if you see me kiss somebody else?"
"Then, I'll kill you both." Atsuko's eyes are scary.
"Haha! Joudan da yo! I won't let that happen. Minami is only mine."
She's really scary for a moment there. I almost thought of backing out.
"So, where is it now?" She asked again.
"Nani?"
"My goodnight kiss..."
"But I already gave you one!"
"Fine, I'll go to sleep now..." She's about to face away from me.
This girl exactly knows how to push me over the edge. I stole a kiss from her lips again before she turned around from me. I plan to make it short but she pulled me back for more. She moved her lips and opened her mouth... Wait, what is she doing? Then I remember what she said earlier, that she wants me to own her and yes... I do want to.
Our kiss went on getting deeper and deeper... I feel like drowning myself to her... She's stealing my breath away and I want more... My body is aching for her... I feel like burning inside and I can't control myself anymore... This scares me... I need to stop... or else I might...
"Minami? Are you okay? You're sweating..." She asked after I used all my energy left to pull myself off.
I lay my head on her chest once more. The sound of her heartbeat calms me down.
"Atsuko... please hold me tonight."
"I will." She answered as she wrapped her arms around me.
And we stayed like that the entire night. I don't feel sleepy yet. Maybe because I feel like I'm already inside my dream.
"Atsuko... still awake?"
"Hmm?"
"You asked me earlier about what I want to be. And I think I know the answer now."
She didn't respond anymore but I still continue what I want to say.
"I want to be... with you..."

I woke up before her the next morning. I opened my eyes and saw my angel sleeping right next to me. This is heaven, to see her beautiful face first thing in the morning. Thanks to my body clock, I had the chance to stare at her longer while she's still sleeping.
"Mmm... Minami..." She moved. Is she already awake? I closed my eyes again and pretended sleeping.
"I know you're already awake. Are you staring at my face the whole morning?" She asked.
I still didn't move. How did she know that?
"So, you won't wake up, huh. Alright, I'm now getting up from your bed and leaving your room."
She then sat up, so I immediately captured her and hugged her from behind.
"Mou~ I'm still sleepy... don't leave the bed, please?" I said still hugging her.
"Ah really, so what happened to your body clock?" She asked grinning.
Oh shoot! I totally forgot she also knows about that.
"Alright, I'm wide awake now... but please let's stay like this a little bit more." I requested.
"I didn't know that Minami's clingy on bed... How cute..." She teased.
"No, I'm not!"
"Yes, you are!"
"So you want me to be clingy? Then let me show you..."
I grabbed her back to bed and started to tickle her body all over.
"Kyaaa~!!! Minami!!! Stop that!!!" She's laughing hard.
She tried to fight back and switch our positions. She's now on top of me to get revenge.
"You're dead, Minami. My turn!!!"
I'm expecting her to tickle me, too. But she only paused. She's holding both of the hands above my head.
"Minami, do you really love me?" She asked seriously, looking straight to my eyes.
"The one I love is the person right infront of me. Regardless, if she's that girl from the entrance exam or that actress from that stage." I answered.
Her face is now slowly getting closer to mine again. I know she's about to kiss me but suddenly the door bell rings.
"Is that your parents already?" She moved back.
"I don't think so. It's too early yet, and why would they have to ring the doorbell? They have keys."
I got up the bed and went downstairs to check who the person is.
"Takamina!!!" I opened the door and was surprised to see Yuko.
"E-Ehh? Yuko?! What are you doing here so early in the morning?"
"This is an emergency! I've been calling you since last night but you're not answering your phone. I wanted someone to talk to. I even called Aachan too but I can't reach..... her..... eeehh? Aachan?!"
Atsuko followed me down and Yuko saw her wearing my pajamas.
"The two of you are together last night?! So, that explains it all!"
"Yuko, it's not what you think, okay?"
"Did you actually spent the night together?"
"My parents left, so Atsuko just kept me company." I explained.
"So, you two are all alone?! Hey, what's going on in here?" Yuko suddenly rushed upstairs.
"Yuko, where are you going?" I ran after her.
She opened my door and entered my room.
"No futon on the floor and your bed is a mess... So the two of you shared one bed, huh?" She grinned.
"Is there something I should know?"
"Yuko, I already confessed to Minami last night." Atsuko said.
"Woah... finally! But did you guys... uhm..."
"Nothing happened, you perverted squirrel!!!" I yelled at her.
"Yeah, right... try to convince me more. Takamidget's a grown-up girl now! I'm so proud."
"Whatever, Yuko. Anyway, what is it that brought you here that you can't even wait for tomorrow?"
Her face suddenly saddened. I knew there was something wrong. She's not usually like this.
"Nyannyan..." She answered.
"Why? What happened to Kojiharu?" I asked.
"Nyannyan... She's... transferring."
