Reina gave a small grin, and tucked the ball away into her pocket.
“And you haven’t eaten today,” Maki growled, coming closer. “So Yocchan can easily keep you there for as long as I want her to.”
“Remember the deal.” Yossie said, “Only hit her once.”
That moment flashed into Reina’s memory suddenly, which caused the teen to mentally kick herself.
How could she of been so oblivious? What other reason would there be for Yossie to be possibly stronger than Miki that night? Or even the deal between her and Maki, whatever it may be, Reina was sure it had to do with Yossie's little secret..
Luckily, the meeting seemed to go by rather fast. Although it was now obvious to the dog-woman was, Reina really wanted to throw that ball for her excuse as ‘absolute proof’. More or less, she just wanted to see the leader chase after it like some crazy beast.
All she had to do was find a place where Yossie was, and Miki wasn’t, right? The ‘Perfect Plan‘.
Fortunately, Reina easily found Yossie within the hour, who was simply sitting on a park bench, reading a magazine.
The ‘Perfect Plan’ started to take action….
…Or, the ‘Not-So-Perfect Plan’.
Reina sighed, picking up the ball that she had just thrown across the park. The crazy amusement that the teen expected had never came.
Although the leader almost seemed tempted to go fetch the ball, she managed to ignore it’s purpose and continued reading her magazine on a bench while enjoying the nice day.
“I just have no luck with this…” Reina mumbled, oddly this reminded her of the time during the shooting for a Hello! Morning episode, she was forced to take care of some dog…Oh how she hated that dog. The wonky eyed girl couldn’t even remember how many damn times she had to go fetch that ball herself while the dog just watched amusingly.
“Having fun?” A voice asked, Reina turned to face the person and smiled.
“Kinda.” Reina said with a smile.
“Trying to teach a dog fetch?” the girl asked, laughing slightly. “I recall you don’t like doing that very much.”
“Oh, I’m not doing that, Ishikawa-san.” Reina said, trying to seem as if she wasn’t doing something odd, and there were no dogs around as it was. “Just teaching those kids over there a few games.” she pointed over to a random group of kids playing baseball.
“Ah, I see.” Rika said, looking over there as well.
“Oi! I told you guys to be careful when hitting the ball!” Reina yelled to them, trying to add to the act.
It didn’t help very much, for the kids looked at her as if she were going to kill them, but soon went back to their little game.
Reina gave a nervous laugh, tossing the ball from one hand to the other while trying to keep it cool.
“So, what brings you here?” she asked, figuring it was best to change the subject and dropping the ball while she did so.
“Oh, I’m just taking a walk.” Rika explained, bending down and picking up the tennis ball before starting to toss it in her hands as well. “I have a meeting soon and figured I should get out before it starts.”
“Seems like everyone has a meeting today.” Reina laughed, scratching the back of her head absently.
Suddenly, Mr. Moonlight started to fill the air. Nobody could mistake that corny, but catchy tune. Rika pulled her cell phone out of her purse, opening it and putting it to her ear. “Hello?…What? Seriously?…How the hell did she manage that?…Uh, okay. Don’t panic, I’ll be there soon…Yup, bye.” with that, she hung up.
Reina raised an eyebrow. “Eh?” she asked, catching the tennis ball as Rika passed it to her.
“Yui, somehow, managed to get locked in a bathroom. The door is jammed or something like that.” Rika laughed lightly, “So I have to go save her before Erika has a panic attack. Sorry to run like this!” she said, starting to run towards the apartments.
“That was…Weird.” Reina said, blinking a couple times while watching Rika run off, but she couldn’t help but to laugh lightly.
Shrugging slightly, the wonky eyed teen started to head back to where Yossie was, which seemed to be a lot further than she realized. Stupid tennis balls, always have to keep going in going… Just like that damn pink bunny with the drum.
Figuring she might as well give up on the whole were-Yossie idea for today, she sat down next to the leader. “Hello.” she said with a smile, tossing the ball from one hand to the other like she had been doing previously.
Yossie looked up from her magazine, giving a smile. “Hello, Reina-chan. How‘re you?” she said, but her eyes quickly averted from Reina’s face straight down to the ball.
Reina raised an eyebrow, noticing that this was much different from the time Yossie’s eyes had followed the ball before during the meeting, she was more than just dazed by the object. Of course, once Reina realized this, she had to have a little fun.
“I’m good.” the teen replied, moving the ball back and forth, watching the leader’s head followed without even seeming to think about it first. “And you?”
“I’m…Good.” Yossie said, her head moving in a circular motion as it continued to follow the tennis ball.
A grin formed upon Reina’s lips as she looked around the park, nobody seemed to be around. “Go fetch.” she said, throwing the ball towards a field.
The leader didn’t even think, she bolted across the park in the direction of the ball, on all fours at that! The wonky eyed teen had tears from laughing by the time that Yossie pranced back with the ball in her mouth.
“Thank you Rika.” Reina smirked, taking the ball from Yossie and patted her head. “I guess those rumors were true of you two. And you know her scent! That’s kinda weird.”
A good fifteen minutes passed of Yossie and Reina playing fetch, and the teen still found great amusement out of the whole situation. After throwing the ball again and watching Yossie go after it with the same amount of passion and excitement as the last sixty-seven times Reina had thrown it.
Suddenly, that all too familiar FLAME song started to play out of her pants. Reaching into her pocket, Reina pulled out her cell phone, smiling as she picked up. “Hi Maki.” she said.
“Hey.” Maki replied, “I heard you were having a hard day.”
“Sit.” Reina said, taking the ball from Yossie. Oddly enough, the leader sat down on the bench, still watching the ball as Reina sat next to her.
“What?” Maki asked, confused.
“Oh, uh nothing. I’ll explain later.” she laughed, “But yeah, I was having a hard day at first, but my problem is solved now.”
“Well then, that’s good.” Maki laughed as well, “I’m glad to hear that.”
“Me too.” Reina smiled, “So, what are you doing tonight?”
“Nothing really, you wanna come over?” Although they were talking over the phone, Reina knew that Maki was grinning.
“Of course. When’s a good time?”
“Anytime is good.”
“Okay, I’m on my way then.” Reina smiled, “See you in a few.”
“Sounds good. See you.”
Reina closed her cell phone and put it in her pocket while turning to Yossie. “Sorry, I gotta go.” she said, to which Yossie gave a small pout. She still wanted to play.
“Here, have it as a gift or something.” Reina tossed the ball to Yossie, who caught it with a pleased look.
“Sweet.” she said, finally tearing her eyes away from the ball. “Uh…You’re not going to tell anyone, are you? I mean…That was a rather cheap way for you to find out about the ‘Dog-Woman’, with Rika’s scent and all.”
“So you admit it?” Reina grinned, standing up and stretching slightly.
“Well…There’s no way I can try and talk my way out of it. After all…You managed to get my werewolf side to show.” Yossie gave a sigh, “But I knew you were trying to find out the entire day, Miki was complaining about you.”
“Heh, I thought it was Aika-chan.” Reina laughed, scratching the back of her head.
“You could of just asked Maki, she knows.” Yossie said with a chuckle, standing.
“Yeah I guessed, but I wanted to see you chase after a ball.”
“How nice of you to ruin my dignity like that.”
“I deserve it though, after having a day of hell with running into Miki.” Reina stated, “I needed some form of amusement.”
“WHO LET THE DOGS OUT!? WHO? WHO? WHO?” Reina raised an eyebrow as the rather odd song filled the air, Yossie reached into her pocket and pulled out her cell phone, reading the text she had just received.
“That’s not a very good reason.” Yossie said putting away her cell phone. “I gotta go as well. And remember, don’t tell anyone.”
“Of course.” Reina gave a nod, starting to head towards the direction of Maki’s apartment, giving Yossie grin. “I’ll buy you dog cookie to make you feel better, considerin’ I ruined your dignity and all.”
“Haha. Funny.” Yossie said with sarcasm, but couldn’t help but to smile slightly as she walked off in a different direction. At least Reina didn’t freak out about it.
“Nice ring tone by the way!”
It didn’t take long to reach Maki’s apartment, but by the time she got there and opened the door, she found Maki sound asleep on her couch.
Slipping off her shoes, she quietly walked over to the soloist. It’s hard to believe that she’s a vampire when she looks like an innocent little girl while sleeping.
Not wanting to wake up the older, Reina carefully sat down on the edge of the couch to collect her thoughts of the days events.
It still seemed to shock her that Yossie was indeed a werewolf, although she took it quite well, who wouldn’t be shocked to find that their Sempai is some dark creature of the night? Let alone three of them.
Now that she thought about it, she took all the information rather well, okay maybe with Maki she was a bit freaked out, but if anything Reina was more than accepting with the facts.
But why? Why was she so accepting of these people when she knew that could easily be playing a little game with her, and eventually just kill her or something of the sort.
“Ahh!” Reina snapped out of her thoughts, seeing Maki jump up in the air from the couch, half awake. After realizing what was happening, Maki stuck her hand in her pocket, pulling out her cell phone.
“Stupid thing…I forgot to turn it off of vibrate after the meetings.” she mumbled, opening it to see exactly who‘s call she missed. “Oh well, it was Miki.”
Reina gave a smile, “Have a nice nap?” she asked, giggling slightly at Maki’s bed head.
“I’m sorry.” Maki said, stretching slightly. “I just get really sleepy and stuff when I haven’t eaten in a while.”
“It’s okay, don’t worry about it.” Reina said, “And if you’re hungry, you should eat, right? We don’t want you passing out again.”
“Again?” Maki raised an eyebrow in confusion. “When have I ever passed out around you?”
“Not around me.” Reina said, leaning back, “But you rarely do it, I think the last time was a couple years ago, if my story is correct.”
“Ah, yes.” Maki nodded. “I almost forgot about that. But I’ll most likely go out tonight, can’t during the day. Too dangerous.”
“I see.” Reina said with a nod, starting to think about that story. She had stopped writing it considering the fact that she couldn’t bring herself to write anymore of it. It seemed forced now that she knew she had been literally writing someone’s personal life.
“Anyway.” Maki said, changing the subject, “Why did you insist on pissing of Miki today?” she laughed lightly. “It’s not exactly what one could call the smartest thing to do.”
“I wasn’t trying to piss her off.” Reina gave a sigh, “I just kept running into her at the wrong times. I was trying to prove that Aika-chan is the Dog-Woman everyone was talking about, and Miki kept running into my traps instead. And then I ended up realizing that Aika-chan isn’t a werewolf, but Yossie is.”
Maki couldn’t help but to laugh, “You could of just asked me, I knew.”
“I know, I just wanted to prove it myself.” Reina gave a small grin.
“So yankii of you.” Maki returned the grin, still laughing a little bit.
“I’m not yankii.” Reina said flatly, pulling Maki closer. “If it bothers you so much, then kiss me.” she added, her grin growing.
“That’s something a yankii would say.” Maki smirked, but brought her lips to Reina’s before the yankii in denial could protest.
“But you do know, there is more than one werewolf in Hello! Project.” Maki said as the two pulled apart.
“There is? Who is it?” Reina asked, curious as usual. That and she wanted to see who else she can make play fetch.
“Who acts like a hyper little puppy a lot?” Maki asked, grinning once more.
“Koharu-chan does at times.” Reina said, starting to think. “But I don’t think it’s her…”
“She was Mako-chan’s pet in a skit, but people generally thought she was Nakazawa-san’s pet in really life.” That was more than enough to clearly give it away.
“Mari-san!” Reina gave a good laugh at that, “Are you serious? But it does make sense.”
“Yes, she is more open to her dog-like attitude more than Yocchan.”
“Damn, this is gunna be one helluva time.”
