ENTRY #23
Yuko and Ayaka entered the doctor’s office for the result of the compatibility test.
“Ms. Oshima, how are you related to Ms. Umeda?” The doctor asked Yuko.
“Well… I’m her partner.” She briefly answered.
“Business partner, was it?” The doctor asked.
Yuko shook her head. “I mean life partner… I’m her girlfriend.”
“Oh, I see… You weren’t really blood-related… So, that explains it…”
“What do you mean…?” Yuko asked with scrunched eyebrows.
“I’m sorry… But Ms. Oshima is
not a compatible donor to Ms. Umeda.”
Meanwhile…Sae and Sayaka were in the market, buying some groceries…
“Is it okay if we buy these?”
“Eh? How about this one?”
“I think that one’s better…”
“I prefer that one, Sayaka!”
“Sae! Why did you buy that? We don’t need all of that!”
“But I like these… Can we buy it? Pretty please?” Sae looked at Sayaka while trying to do the cute puppy-eyes-trick with matching pouty lips.
Sayaka hit her head. “You don’t need to do that! Baka!”
Sae smirked, seeing her girlfriend blush.
“Tsundere.” She murmured.
“What? What did you say?”
“Huh? Me…? I didn’t say anything!” Sae answered defensively.
“Yes, you whispered something!”
“I don’t think so!”
“I heard you!”
“Eh? If you heard me, then what did I say?” Sae smirked at her.
“Hmph! You won’t tell me? Then… I won’t let you eat these munchily delicious chocolate-coated cookies later!” Sayaka said as she folded her arms and turned around Sae.
“N—nani?!”
“You heard me right…”
“W—wait! Okay! I’ll tell you…” Sae said as she held Sayaka’s arm.
“I’m listening…”
“Tsundere.”
“What?”
“That’s it…”
“Eh?!”
Sayaka started walking away from Sae.
“Matte! There’s one more thing…”
Sae run to catch up on her.
“I love you…” She whispered to Sayaka.
The girl blushed upon hearing those sweet words from her girlfriend.
She hit Sae’s head again… “Baka!”
“Ittai!”
Then, she quickly gave Sae a peck on her left cheek. “I love you, too…”
Sae was dumbfounded by Sayaka’s unusual action, but she was truly happy.
“Come on! Let’s buy Umechan some fruits!” Sayaka said as she pulled Sae to the stalls of various fruits.
Meanwhile…At TakaMina’s apartment unit…
Her kitchen was a mess – spilled flour everywhere.
“Don’t forget the baking soda, okay?” Haruna said as she straightened her apron.
“What should I do with this?” TakaMina asked, in panic.
“Just put it in the bowl…” – Mariko
“I’ll just mix it here… like this?” – TakaMina
Mariko nodded.
TakaMina put the ingredients in the bowl and mixed it…
“Now… will I add the chocolates?”
“Yes… After you mix that… then it’s ready for the oven.” – Haruna
After TakaMina has done everything that Mariko and Haruna instructed, she let out a sigh.
“At last… we’re done!” – Mariko
“Your kitchen’s full of flour everywhere!” Haruna commented as she removed the apron she’s wearing.
“I hope it tastes okay… I have no idea in this kind of thing.” TakaMina removed her apron, too.
“We’ll see… Once it’s cooked.” – Mariko
After a short while…Mariko opened the oven and let out the sweet scent of chocolate cake in the air. “Mmmmm… it smells good.”
“It looks good, TakaMina.” – Haruna
“Yeah, but we still need to coat it with chocolate and icing, right?”
Haruna nodded. “Let’s start…”
They started coating the cake with lots of chocolate and designing it with icing. They made two cakes – one which is big and the other one’s small. The big one is for Acchan’s mom. While the other one, the smaller one, is for them to taste whether the big one tastes good or not…
After they have done the designing and other finishing touches to both cakes, they soon decided to eat the small one.
“Okay… Let’s have a taste of this small one.”
They divided the cake into three parts and each got their equal portion of the cake.
“Mmmm… Oishii~” Haruna commented.
Mariko gave TakaMina two thumbs up. “I’m sure Acchan’s mom would be impressed considering that you haven’t done any baking before.”
TakaMina let out a big sigh and also a smile. “I’m relieved now… but I’m still a bit nervous.”
“Why? You shouldn’t be… Besides it was her mom who personally requested you to visit…” – Haruna
“But that’s the reason why I’m feeling this nervousness… What could be the reason of inviting me in their house so suddenly?”
“Maybe her mother just wants to know you better…” – Mariko
“Or maybe she wants to test your love for Acchan…?” – Haruna
“Eh?!”
“Whatever reason it is… Don’t assume negatively. Doing so won’t bring you any good.” – Mariko
“I can see your point, Mariko… Okay, I’ll relax myself until later.”
“I’m sure Acchan will be proud of you…” – Haruna
“Will you be spending the night at their house?” – Mariko
“I think so… Why?”
“Ooooh… Her mother will be on the lookout!” – Haruna
“What do you mean by… lookout?”
“You’ll see later…” – Mariko
“Just keep very quiet in case you’re going to… do something tonight…” – Haruna
“W—what do you mean by that, KojiHaru? I don’t know why but… the way you said it… sounded a bit…
erotic.” TakaMina looked at Haruna’s innocent eyes.
“That’s it! That’s what I really mean!” Haruna exclaimed.
TakaMina sighed. “I hope I’ll survive for this night… By the way, thanks to the two of you… Without your help, I’ll be going there empty-handed… and that’s not the impression that I wanted to get from her mother…”
Meanwhile with Sayanee…Still bothered by the revelations Milky told her last night; she managed to cheerfully greet a customer entering the DVD rental shop.
“So… Nakayama Keisaku was Milky’s supposed to be fiancé…” She was lost in deep thought that she didn’t notice the familiar man entering the shop.
“Irrashai…” She was about to greet him cheerfully, but it was Keisaku who was in front of her eyes. “…mase.”
“Sayanee… we need to talk.” Keisaku said.
Sayanee remembered that Milky said that she thinks Kei was really clueless about their upcoming marriage as of now. She believes that it was all planned by Kei’s father.
“Wait outside. I’ll ask permission from my boss.” Sayanee said briefly. Keisaku nodded and then he made his way out of the shop.
On the other hand, Sayanee went to her boss’ office and with all the proper talking, she managed to get permission to leave work for an hour or two.
She went out of the shop and found Keisaku standing by the shade of the tree near the shop.
“Where can we talk? I hope it won’t take much time.” Sayanee asked him.
“I guess so. I just need to settle something with you. Would you mind if we grab some coffee and talk inside my car?”
Sayanee nodded. They first grab each a can of ice cold coffee out of the vending machine.
Both of them walked and entered Keisaku’s car. He drove to somewhere not far from where Sayanee works.
Finding a quiet spot, he parked the car and their conversation started.
“Sayanee… Do you remember when we first talked?”
Sayanee answered with a nod.
“The girl that I’m pertaining to was… Watanabe Miyuki. She’s my childhood friend… and the girl I love the most since before.”
Sayanee was quiet, as usual. Besides, she didn’t know what to tell Keisaku. How can she tell him that Milky is her girlfriend?
“I didn’t expect that you knew her… until last night. What a small world it is! And then… a realization came up to my mind.”
She looked at him, curious about what he was up to.
“I remembered what you told me back then… Now I was wondering… is Miyuki your…” He paused to look at Sayanee. “…girlfriend?”
Sayanee was awestricken by the boldness she saw in Keisaku’s eyes. “Yes, she is.”
It suddenly felt awkward so she diverted her gaze and looked out of the car. There was a momentary silence.
“And one more thing… I believe you know about this already…”
“What is it?”
“The deal her father and my father made…” Keisaku paused for a while, seems like he was trying to gain courage and forming the right words to say. “I confronted my father last night and he told me everything…”
Sayanee wasn’t saying anything. She just let him talk.
“I really love Miyuki… but if she doesn’t love me back… then, what’s the sense of marriage…? I don’t want to hurt her and make a fool of myself…”“Keisaku…”
“I’m sorry, Sayanee… I’m the reason for your and Miyuki’s sufferings.”
“It isn’t your fault. There’s no fault in loving someone. We don’t blame your father, too. He just wanted to give you happiness. We don’t blame her father, too. He just wanted a bright future for Miyuki…”
“You know, Sayanee… I have a plan.” Keisaku and Sayanee looked at each other.
